As I said previously… The false statement was that A&M bought their entire class.

Sure, his comments could have been defined better.

Most people took that to mean that he accused A&M of paying all of the guys to sign with A&M. So he apologized, and his apology and clarification came as the result of people thinking that he meant A&M was breaking the law/breaking the rules. There is a reason that Saban tried to call Jimbo…

I think it's true that NIL money got those kids to A&M. Hence paid, but not paid directly by A&M.

I also think it's true that it wasn't illegal.

The choice of words obviously matters. So coaches need to know what they are talking about in specifics when making public comments like this.

So as Jimbo stated that A&M did not provide $$ to a recruit to sign with them, then this makes Saban’s statements false.

Now as to your trash talk, LSU fans have difficulty accepting the fact that A&M has more to offer. Don’t let jealousy cloud your judgement.

Why would LSU be jealous? All that money and hubris and you still haven't sniffed the SEC Championship Game.

Mizzouri, who entered the same time you did, has been TWICE.

A&M does the absolute least with the most. And I hope your lockemroom implodes.

I think it’s fair to say that the athletes have a good enough idea that A&M athletes have had strong NIL capabilities. I’m not naive.
And that’s not illegal because it’s not a specific enticement.

And especially considering there are some either schools that publicly stated “each OL signee gets $50k” - which is a clear enticement…

So you can see why Jimbo took exception to A&M being called out.

Choice of words do matter. Saban said a&m bought the class. It may have not been by Jimbo or the college but it was done so by boosters/alum of the college who support a&m and without their money a&m would not be where they are today.

So directly or indirectly Saban was correct. The clkass was bought and paid for by people people associated with the program and officially recognized by the college based on their contributions which defines them as boosters. Saban's comments never said it was illegal but that NIL was not designed for this but because the lack legislation the NCAA is allowing it and that it needs to be changed.

Bought and paid for only if you believe that these recruits have been paid by bag men

Now you are playing words.

Do you believe that a&m brought in this recruiting class due to collective/boosters associated with the program offering NIL deals?

Or do you believe NIL had nothing to do with it?

That’s a false choice - which is my point.

I’m not saying NIL is irrelevant. It helped. It’s relevant for every schools recruiting - to varying degrees.

That doesn’t mean A&M bought this recruiting class.

Or do you think every school with NIL bought their recruiting class?

I don't think Jimbo's wrong, at least technically, about NIL.

I do think that Jimbo and Saban are great coaches, but that both have a history with inducements that neither would like fully examined, like the majority of Power 5 coaches.

It’s a good thing Bama has always done things the right way, not like those Aggie cheaters.
