Just think. If Mizzou brass was smart, they would have accepted their role in the Big Ten, probably would have gone 10-2 in that conference and been in the discussions for a playoff bid. But here you are stuck with the blue bloods.
And we’re 29-9 over the past three seasons.
So hurtful!

He advised Lane that LSU was a better job because of the recruiting base, so he wouldn't have to portal as many players.
That’s what he said publicly. Privately they had a laugh about Oxford and Ole Miss before Saban offered one of his rental properties in Baton Rouge to Kiffin until he finds something more permanent.

But the whole idea that Lane could stay on and coach the Ole Miss team was just bonkers.
Yeah and I disagreed with Saban's take on that situation because he himself told Lane to pack his bags and get the hell out one week before the National Championship game after he accepted the FAU job.
I mean just that he took the job though. He let Kirby and Pruitt finish after they took competitive head coaching jobs.
But I was kind of speechless with him and Herbie saying that. That makes the football program and whole athletic department just look incredibly weak. Like "Well, this is our one chance and you're a once in a lifetime coach and we need you at this moment." It's crazy to think that was gonna happen. I can't believe someone on the set didn't just point that out to them right away.

But those were assistants making an upgrade to a HC position and he was always of the opinion that it was okay for his assistants to leave for an upgrade. I don't think he thought Lane's move to FAU was an upgrade from being OC at Bama.
I wish Reese would have asked him about firing Lane before the NC game just to see what his response would have been.

My understanding is he didn't manage the multitask very well at Bama. Had nothing to do with it being a lateral or less than lateral move. Jim went to Colorado St. Saban wasn't angry with him.

These are not analysts giving you their honest opinions. They’re CAA clients running a publicity campaign to clean up another client’s tarnished reputation. They’re not sports journalists (whatever that is), they’re PR bullshite spinners.

Cry some more about it. We don’t give a frick.
Is this sour grapes because the fan bases of actual, solid football schools were on the verge of revolt just hearing Drink’s name mentioned as a candidate? Keep having fun with that guy losing to every good team he faces. Talk about a fraud.
