You do realize that yards do not equate to points?
Chavis allowed WVU to dink/dunk passes because it would never culminate in points 90% of the time.
The point of the game is to win - if it means punting on 1st down or taking a safety then that is what should be done and to hell with the stats.

If it is so easy and successful, then why don't other teams do it? And more importantly, why haven't other teams been successful in stopping LSU's uncomplicated style of play? Why wasn't Alabama able to deal with LSU's uncomplicated style last year?

Doesn't mean that Bama is not going to work. This week it's not a bad idea to focus on Bama's weaknesses, get some strength and conditioning in, get some rest, etc.

This is not what inspired Vol fans to coin the expression "3rd and Chavis." Ask any Vol fan about Bama 2007 and how Chavis not only got schooled by a 20-something year old offensive coordinator, he also made DJ Hall look like a Heisman candidate.

I remember Saban sucking after bye weeks at LSU. 2003 Florida was just a bad all around performance by the team and they (Florida) really weren't that great.

Chavis criticism from Vols carries as much weight as Meyer criticism on the Gator boards. He doesn't like to recruit as much as other coaches do: big deal, he is at LSU where getting those recruits is not that difficult.
Now that recruits are not an issue, his schemes work as they did when UT had their choice recruits.
Anyhooo you are trying to build a strawman argument about Chavis when the original point was about the reason for defensive strategies being different for different opponents.

I really wish people would quit stretching for shite to talk about with this game. Two great teams with very little weaknesses. Everyone get over their homerism and admit that this will be a helluva game. Just be proud that our teams are the best in the nation and we are reppin the baddest conference there is!
