Makes you wonder what is going to happen when Saban leaves.
Because LSU just immediately fell off a cliff after 2004.
Les did win a NC, even with 2 loses. The last 5 years have been a struggle by their standards.

No, just amazed how the worst coach in the SEC (Gus) could beat the best coach in College Football history, considering the difference in talent.
Since when does anyone give the “worst coach” in the conference $49 million??

I was just restating comments about Gus from Bama and other SEC Teams Fans.

You seem happy with your guy and results and we are happy with our guy and results. Sounds like a win win. Looks like you’ve been having this conversation for a couple days now. Get out and enjoy a beautiful weekend.

First, he is hardly the worst. He has been a Top 5 SEC coach. Of course, he is at Auburn, which has a lot of advantages. He may not have done as well elsewhere. For that reason alone, Hugh Freeze's ability to frustrate CNS, almost winning 3 straight, were more impressive than anything Gus has done in Iron Bowls.
But, to you point, you may be familiar with a few expressions that might help explain it for you: "shite happens" "shitting in a swinging jug" "blind hog finds an acorn" etc.

Rounds 4 through 7 the NFL largely drafts guys from coaches they trust. Saban is one, Kirby is another, and a lot of big ten guys get picked up late because they are technically well coached. Scouts also tend to trust about 5 blue blood programs and give their borderline guys the benefit of the doubt. As an AU fan I ask myself this in regards to the draft...
Does Stephen Roberts, Tray Mathews, Jeff Holland, Austin Golson get drafted had they played at Bama? Ofcourse they do.
Does Deshawn Hand get drafted had he had same career at AU? Not a chance. Are Carl Lawson, Montravious Adams, and Carlton Davis 1st rounders had they played for Saban? I tend to think they would be.
Tough to admit but Gus has a horrible rep with NFL and its proof when you watch the draft.

Bout time I see a little auburn-Bama hate. I am starting to think y'all rivalry is overrated.

Because maybe some kids aren’t all that infatuated with driving dodge chargers?

Seriously, I tend to agree, for the most part, with what you said....I'm honestly astonished myself.

quote:I also call a coach with a team full 5*s getting about 3 or 4 drafted high shitty development. With that level of talent compared to his competitors, he should never lose a game. Saban has always won and shown at a level below what his talent was capable of. That's why 3*s from crap schools are being drafted above his players and lasting long in the NFL.
Shitty arse development by the auburn coaching staff.

To answer as to why some kids would go to AU over Bama.
1.AU still recruits at an elite level and can compete with Bama and anyone else at certain positions (DL,RB). Those are usually the guys getting drafted out of AU.
2.AU has done enough recent winning to appeal to the top players wanting to have a chance at Championships.
3.Some of these guys are truly looking for best fit over the next 4 years and not "just" thinking NFL.
4.The players that are just thinking NFL I will agree...not sure how you could pick AU over Bama if all you are thinking about is getting to the NFL.
