Who are these people that would spend such money over a game? It certainly means to much for me but at some point, donate it to feeding hungry children.

Nahh buddy, Darla's cool but Tammy is the shite. She takes real, real, real good care of us. Especially when she's getting a return on her investment. If you want to see where Spurrier used to do his booster rubbing in Myrtle Beach click the link. You can't see it but theres a gamecock logo in the bottom of that pool.

Joe Rice... won big in the tobacco lawsuit of the late 90’s. Have no clue if true but that’s the rumor. He definitely has the cash to do it.

He was a big part of the tobacco settlements and his firm, Motley Rice, even did some fo the 9/11 victims’ stuff. They’re big players in mass torts. No clue what his equity in the firm is these days but I’d imagine he’s quite well off.

We might be the only program in the country with a decrease in attendance from 2020 to 2021 if Muschamp is still the coach next year.

If they don't have a person already selected then they are pissing money away.

The UofSC doesn't have anything that the rest of the top SEC schools have with regards to facilities. Selling a college in downtown Columbia that has a terrible history in College Football is an uphill battle.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. If there has been a silver lining to Clemson's success it's only proof that we can do it. If the smaller school, with fewer fans, and less money, in nowhere South Carolina can do it then we sure as shite can.

Our facilities are actually top notch if you care to look into them. Spending money on the program hasn't been the issue it's just trying to find the right coach to lead them. Spurrier was on the cusp but just quite couldn't break through to the next tier.

They would be smart to go after someone like Scott Satterfield or Bronco Mendenhall. They clearly have demonstrated how to build failing programs. They can probably get them for a good price. Louisville and Uva can only go so far.

How about our Mega Church? We got that yet? I mean, what good is Pass-tor Hugh if we don't have a mega church to funnel our "Love offerings" through?

Just curious, where are you getting your info? I don’t have any confirmation of anything but the rumblings that CWM is gone are quite strong. Some people with good reputations are all agreeing that they don’t have a timeframe, but that there is zero chance he is coaching in 2021.

Get Napier if you can

No. We'd like to have him around for one more non-asterisk season. Then they can dump a bunch of money in his lap.

Napier just seems like a natural fit for the South Carolina job, if our people don't get bent out of a shape over hiring one of Dabo's former assistants.

Rumor that booster has fully paid (insert name of coach on hot seat here) buyout amount.
Booster apparently went to the university and threatened to pull all future support if they don’t use the money he gave

This has been said every year by every fanbase with a coach on the hot seat. May be true, may not, but it isn't unique to So Car.

I remember when Bama was preparing to fire Mike Shula. Mal Moore did a "pass the hat" campaign to cover Shula's $4M buyout. Supposedly, it raised $12M in 48 hours, which was enough to cover Shula's buyout and the 1st two years of Saban's salary. That's how badly we wanted to move on. I'm sure USCe is in a similar boat at this point.

The pecking order was much different in the ACC. It was and has been for all practical purposes a basketball conference. Miami and Florida State were transplanted and they were the ones who added all the football credentials to the conference when they finally joined. Clemson hasn't had to fight their way to the top of a historically strong football conference and maintaining top billing is just SOP at this point. Now, winning an ACC basketball championship, so many great traditional teams, it gets ridiculously hard.

South Carolina brings their Independent butts to the SEC with little to zero football tradition and proceeds to try to find their identity in the most powerful football conference in the country. It's a waste of time trying to pull out the same measuring stick that Clemson has. And Clemson knows it.

You're right. Coming from a fan of a 1 team league it really is

Oh wait, you added one other real team this year. How'd that work out for you?

Yeah... that would make sense if Clemson didn't clobber Alabama a couple of year's ago.

Your argument would make sense if Clemson ran through the ACC schedule like butter but suddenly hit a wall as soon as they stepped out of conference. I can't believe I'm defending them here but they've routinely taken down the best of other leagues in the CFP.

And again, there were a few years in Spurrier's latter years where we were killing it in the SEC - including knocking off several top tier opponents and finishing top 5-6 in the entire country. Spurrier would just stub our toe against a lesser opponent at some point throughout the season. But the idea that somehow South Carolina will just never be able to hang is asinine.
