1. Auburn- 2.5
2. Arkansas- 3.0
3. Texas- 3.0
4. Georgia- 4.0
5. LSU- 5.5
6. Vanderbilt- 6.5
7. Alabama- 8.5
8. N Carolina- 8.5
9. Florida- 10.5
10. Florida State- 10.5
11. Oregon St- 11.5
12. Coastal Carolina- 11.5
13. Northeastern- 14.5
14. Tennessee- 15.5

Taking the two most prevalent used metrics and averaging them together shows the Top 7 teams are from the SEC. I know there is no way the SEC will get 7 national seeds, but if things were fair, the winner of the Bama-UF series would get a national seed.

I'd love to hear the rationale on this?

Sorry. Typo. Should have said UF.

Whoever wins that series will have a way better resume than whoever the 2nd best non-SEC team is. The only reason the Bama-Florida series winner won’t get a national seed is because they are an SEC team, and the committee will only give 5 or 6 national seeds to the SEC. No chance of 7.

Put another way, the Top 6 teams are clear (though the order could be anything).

The race for the next two national seeds:

ELO:
6- North Carolina
8- Florida
9- Alabama
12- Florida State

RPI:
8- Alabama
9- Florida State
11- North Carolina
12- Florida

SOS:
4- Florida
18- Alabama
39- Florida State
40- N Carolina

Quad 1 Wins
14- Alabama
11- Florida State
9- Florida
7- North Carolina

You’re splitting hairs between those 4 resumes yet UNC and FSU are basically locks for national seeds at this point. Bama should host but has no shot at a national seed. And Florida is looking like they might not even get to host. That’s not right IMO.

This is my argument against Florida.. Bama has a chance though imo..

And I'm not saying Florida isn't good enough, but the resume and full body of work has to count for something..

This is just a metric that I've always put together..

Q1 + Q2 Wins vs All Losses

It isn't everything (see Arkansas) but the 18 L for Florida probably keep them out..

Why are Auburn fans posting on here about baseball all of a sudden? Did I miss something?

My personal opinion is if they don't like going on the road, don't play like dogshit in March.

Is this ELO like in chess?

I don't keep track of baseball, but the thread got my attention because of ELO. I was curious how this would be done for baseball since it would seem there would be bias towards teams at the end of the year.

Well for one, we’re having a great season and are hoping to get to Omaha for the 3rd time in 6 seasons.

Now can you explain to us why an Arkansas fan would ever post about football?

Well, they are 2-2 against Auburn over their last 4 games. They are allowed to post about playing Auburn. Those are just the rules.

No. Worst 5 seasons in Auburn football history, yet still a winning record against the Hogs during that span.

No program wants to see Florida travel to their stadium after Memorial Day.
