The fact that Devin White wasn't even a finalists is laughable. He is one of the best linebackers I've ever seen

But congrats to Roquan Smith... much deserved

Jarvis jones was undisciplined. It is why he hasnt translated to the stud in the NFL.

Pittsburgh also tried to bulk him up and turn him into a three down player instead of let him do what he was good at.

Awesome!!!

One of my top 3 favorite D players in the league this year along with Jeff Holland and Minkah Fitzpatrick.

Devin White is very talented and makes lots of tackles. Hes also out of position way more than an All American LB should be, especially on screens and misdirections.

He'll come back and have a chance at awards like this, but you are being blind if you don't admit that.

I absolutely agree, but as far as raw talent goes, its hard to say who I've seen better

He's a stud. Big, fast, physical. He'll get better and be one of if not the dude nationally at LB next year.

Love the way he attacks, just has to hone it a bit. He will.

Trying to do too much

Our D-Line next year will allow more roaming & instinctual play. Should be fun to watch.

Jarvis Jones is not nearly as great an all around player as Roquan is.

In 2012 we ran directly at Jones the entire 2nd half. Nobody would ever do that to Roquan. Jones was an elite pass rusher. Smith an an elite everything. He's Rueben Foster
.

Smith is an elite pass rusher with 5.5 career sacks? He's elite in coverage with 2 passes defended an 0 interceptions? Gotcha.

That Stat is kept by the UGA athletics department. They don't log most of them for some reason. But Roquan has been knocking passes down the few times that he is in coverage.

He basically is a perma-spy on the qb or rb (whomever is the opponent's biggest threat) and he has been shutting them down all season. Not a ton of opportunities to defend passes when most passes to RBs are at or near the LOS. But if you swing a pass to the perimeter for the tailback, he is there to shut it down for little to no gain. LSU likes to throw to their tailbacks, yes?

His sacks are split between blitzes and times that he spies the QB but sees a seam to attack. He's an ILB
5.5 sacks for a player that doesn't blitz often is very good (I understand not wanting to dub it great).

He is going to own Oklahoma. They think since they beat up on UGA lite last year they can do the same to us. Georgias defense has a top 5 pick at linebacker who times the inside blitz better than anyone I've ever seem so Mayfield will be put off his spot. Two of our other linebackers could go anywhere from late first to third. Baker is an alL SEC corner. Trent doesn't get stats but is still probably a third rounder at this point. Sanders has more picks than anyone in school history. They're fricked

I'm as big of a Jarvis Jones fan as anyone... Hung out with him a bunch while he was down in Orlando preparing for the draft. He's an awesome human being... with all that said, admitting my bias, it's a pretty easy call... Roquan is the better all around player. As others have said... Jarvis has elite pass rushing skills... Roquan is great at literally everything. He's going to be the hardest cog in the defense to replace IMO by far.

Georgia doesn't blitz all that much dumbass. We blitzed more than we ever have in the SEC championship game.

So the LB that is "an elite everything" is the guy that doesn't blitz? Now I understand much better.
