I searched yesterday to see if that story was true. didn't see anything. There are too many incidents now and the most recent one pops up on google for atleast 3 pages.

From your link, the only statement Mett has made about this incident so far is that it is a "bogus rumor." I'm going to need a little more to go on than just some bar owner who wants to make the papers. Also, assuming this did happen, even if someone said "Roll Tide" before punching him that doesn't necessarily mean they were Bama fans. They could have just been looking for a fight and thought that would rile him up. It's become something of a meme for people who want to act like they're a redneck.

I agree that this is really silly but it seems incredibly out of place compared to the rest of what you're attempting to imply. I don't think it's embarassing for people to think Louisiana is trashy. I'm sure he's not the only one and I'm sure it's not just Bama fans who feel this way. This certainly isn't on the level of killing someone.

Again, this just seems really out of place. People name their kids dumb things all the time. I am 100% certain all of our fanbases have fans with really ridiculous names. This doesn't seem to be on the same level of a Harvey Updyke or killing someone because they don't care enough about a loss.

You have links all the way back to 2003 and all you can find are 18 incidents? With a few of those being suspect claims, duplicates, or simply not embarassing at all?
I'm feeling pretty good about our fanbase right now if this is the case.

What do you think happened? He and his trashy friends rolled across the lawn of a fraternity house and started talking shite. shite talking commenced. Talking led to fighting. One of the Bama fans sucker punched a kid who wasn't fighting, and then took off down the road.
A few of the fraternity kids ran after them, they started fighting again, and then Barrett started knifing people who were fighting his buddies.
Fraternity fights and rival fan fights happen at every game. The difference is that one of yours decided to put a knife between someone's ribs and collapse the kid's lung, and then tried to bribe a MR kid to take the fall.
