Those two previous coaches had loaded rosters. I think we are in for at least a few years of rebuilding and mediocrity.
I’m most concerned that we don’t seem to have even a half decent front seven on defense.

Different day and age. We have a solid coaching staff, and we can pull a lot of day 1 contributors out of the transfer portal following spring camps. We could make Atlanta in 2023.

Yeah, thinking this is LSU specific is silly. I was proud for those young guys who gutted it out in the game, and also acknowledge we may see more and more games that look like that during bowl season.
No idea what the fix is at this point. There may not be one tbh. An expanded playoff might reduce it some, but even then that would be, at most, a dozen teams.

The players are at the schools to get to the NFL 1st. Playing for your favorite school is 2nd or 3rd.
The University is larger than the players fans always claim until athletes enter the portal, opt out, etc....then the fans melt down.
