As a football enthusiast, why does everything have to feel like it’s rigged?
The answer is money.
When Nick Saban went to Bama- Birmingham and the SEC decided to ride this horse into the sunset.
Bama has to be really bad to lose a game. The refs and SeC will make sure that they win at all cost

Bama's offense improved, but their defense is no better than it was when it lost to UT (see Auburn game).
FSU's backup QB's didn't even necessarily have to go full-Cardale-Jones-2014 in order for FSU to get in, but they definitely needed to play better than they did.
