They should do this anyways so they can actually determine who their best teams are, instead of leaving multiple 3-loss teams, and a 2-loss team who played no one good other than the team who beat them twice (Texas).
It’s not the B1G’s fault that the SEC couldn’t figure out its top 4 teams. They are both mega conferences, yet one of those mega conferences (B1G) produced 4 teams that were indisputably better than everyone else in the same conference, while the other mega conference (SEC) failed to do the same. The B1G went a step further and showed who their top 4 teams are in order. Meanwhile, in the SEC, the best was UGA, but I have no idea if Tennessee or UT is the second best, and I really have no idea who the fourth best team is.

Of course, the same thing will happen to the other conferences at some point, but it happened to be the SEC this year. Going back to divisions with round robin intra-division games should fix this though.
He played fine. It seems clear that he covered up a lot of poor offensive line play throughout the season with his athleticism. Overall, he played 3 great defenses this year (UGA, UM, UT), and did at least solid in 2 of those games.

If Bama had skill position players like they did in 2019 and 2020, then fine, they'd want a more accurate distributor at QB. But 2023 Bama didn't have those players, so Milroe was the best chance for the team to even make it this far.

There's no reason why he can't take another big step forward next year. But if Bama fans want to run him out of town, then hey, some other team will be happy to have him.
Has nothing to do with my post but sure
It's ok to support Michigan in the Bama game. An undefeated Michigan team losing in the natty is a way better outcome.

Ok got it, so you didn't watch the Washington game.
Bama isn't even top 30 in any run-defense categories, so no, those are not standalone games. Also, we're now talking about Bama playing Michigan, who I'd hope you'd agree has multiple RB's and a better OL than Auburn lol
Bama's offense improved, but their defense is no better than it was when it lost to UT (see Auburn game).

FSU's backup QB's didn't even necessarily have to go full-Cardale-Jones-2014 in order for FSU to get in, but they definitely needed to play better than they did.

Agreed only because Saban is still the coach with a month to prepare, and the stage will get to Michigan more than Bama. Otherwise, I'd say Bama's run defense will cost them the game. UT straight-up bullied them, and just last week Auburn ran all over them. Bama's defense overall is worse than OSU's and not much better than Penn States; Michigan did fine in those games.

Milroe will get his against anyone he plays. The only upside for Michigan is that they rotate a ton of guys on defense, so when Milroe extends drives with his feet, it won't exactly wear Michigan down like it would against other teams.

I'm thinking 23-20 Bama because, well, Saban.
Wow a topic about rivalries devolves into north vs. south nonsense, who would've thought? Regardless, the best is either Ohio State-Michigan, Bama-Auburn, or OU-UT (honorable mention Army vs. Navy).

The heatedness of the Egg Bowl, Clemson-SC, and Bama-Auburn is because they are in-state rivalries. I'd argue that there is just as much heatedness between Ohio State and Michigan. The fact that the two states fought a literal war against each other adds an interesting dimension to it too.

Competition-wise, Ohio State-Michigan have both been ranked in the top-5 13 times. And I think they've given the other their first loss of the season like 8 times (i.e. kept the other out of a potential natty appearance 8 times). It's good stuff between two blue bloods.

Also, the "criticisms" here that Ohio State and/or Michigan is overrated in any given year is weird. A great rivalry is where one wants to see the other suffer as much as possible, and the source/circumstances of that suffering can change in any given season. When Michigan has a great team, I want them to be undefeated going into the game since a loss would make them suffer even more. When Michigan doesn't have a great team, I want them to lose literally every single game while we win a national title; that's maximum suffering. And if the outside world thinks Ohio State is overrated, then that's fine since it'd be hilarious if our biggest rival lost to an overrated team.

It’s not. There is no team in CFP history that could cover all three of Jefferson, Chase and Marshall with Burrow throwing them passes. Mac Jones on the other hand throws a very defendable ball.

2016 Ohio State would have the defensive personnel to make it interesting (5 first-rounders in the secondary, Nick Bosa, Sam Hubbard, Dremont Jones, Jerome Baker, and some other NFL draft picks) but the offense was so laughably bad that they'd still get smoked by 2019 LSU. The real way would be to have a historically great defensive line like 2016 Clemson or a random Bama team since the only way to stop a Joe Burrow offense is to actually sack him (see 2021 Bengals).
This is the exact same thing people said about Nick Bosa lol and it obviously had zero effect on his draft stock or success in the NFL
Eh, I still think the bigger issue is that offense has overtaken defense over the past few years in cfb. Offensive players are more refined entering college (as well as the NFL) than they were even just a decade ago, especially with all the 7-on-7 stuff and camps. College defenses, which Saban rode to multiple championships, can't dominate like they used to. 2021 Georgia was a historically good defense and still gave up 500+ yards to a Bama offense that wasn't even as good as some of the other recent offenses we've seen.

Saban's entire defense can be 5-star players, but only a handful of those guys are NFL-ready players in a given year. Meanwhile, offenses today might have entire WR rooms that could literally start for the Texans on Sunday (see 2019 LSU, 2020 Bama, 2021 OSU, etc). I mean cmon, just look at all the great young QB's, WR's, and RB's we now see in the NFL.
