Rick wants Cal to be applauded. So do I.

I think Cal should get a standing ovation. Doesn't have to be crazy, but respectful. So should DJ, Z, and Thiero. I think Thiero will get a standing ovation.

I wonder what this forum will do if Arkansas somehow wins as a 12.5 point dog

As a season ticket holder and (required) K-Fund donor, I respectfully decline to listen to any current or former coach who sees fit to lecture me on how to be a fan.

Stay in your lane, Rick.

I am not putting too much thought into that, personally.

If Arkansas wins, this forum would have a collective orgasm. UK fans would question the existence of God…and Arkansas would still be stuck with Cal. Only one of those lasts longer than a week.

Some people will boo. Some will cheer. It won’t be anything like Pitino faced (rightfully). Pretty anticlimactic.

I’m a little over the media and other coaches telling Kentucky fans how they should react though.

I’m not aware of any other fan base in college athletics that attracts the amount of vitriol that Kentucky fans get over having high expectations.

Yeah, that's likely where it's at. I prefer to remember the early Cal years when he still tried. No UK fan cares about the NBA. I hope for their sake Arkansas fans do.

I do not remember Pitino at UK but I do know he is a great coach. Cal had a great run there so I think he earned some respect from their fans.

I wouldn't Boo Coach Cal. He has been nothing but polite about his time at Kentucky since leaving and he had a great run here. I appreciate the teams and the title. Besides Cal is actually pretty good at charity work even if he doesn't advertise it. He's a good guy.

Now the way it all went at the end of the season was super fricky but its worked out well for both parties. Hogs should have a great class coming in next year and we're having a pretty decent year.

Pope is 100% correct that eventually, Cal will return to Rupp as UK’s guest, and will be celebrated for his time here. He will have his name raised on a banner in the rafters…and everyone will cheer.

That time is not now.

He’ll have to swim through some of the waste water he left for the time being. He didn’t necessarily leave on bad terms with the fans…but he knowingly spit in the fan’s face a bit.

Worried that Rick is suffering form dementia…he said UK fans have “great class.”

Yeah, Eddie Sutton left us to go to kentucky and he was always welcomed back with open arms. We all appreciated what he did for us and never forgot it. But we never felt that jilted lover crap either, we were above that.
