He did a solid job at Memphis until Penny ran him off. A lot of folks in Memphis wanted Penny fired and Stansbury to take the head coaching position.

Nick Saban won his last national championship at age 69 and Rick Pitino won his last national championship at 61.
There have been very few football and basketball national championships won by coaches over the age of 65.

Rick Stansbury is 66 now and will be 67 by conference play. You are taking a victory lap over hiring Stansbury. He can’t join you, due to the walker and broken hip.
