Saban is an institution and the best coach in CFB history. Referees fondly remember when Bear Bryant would yell at them. They saw it as an honor.
It's similar with Saban. They'll tell their grandkids they got yelled at by a legend and the best coach in history.
He gets a pass.
Ed O, Dan Mullen, Jeremy Pruitt and others of the like don't get that honor. They're just regular coaches.
