Bama's defense is out of this world. UF and LSU have nothing on it. Peyton Manning wouldn't score 3 points on their defense.

Florida had the toughest defense in the country this year.
They had very little support from their offense, and played a ridiculously strong schedule.
If Alabama had Florida's defense they would be undefeated.

they both played LSU, UGA, UT, Aggies, Mizzou
UF played SC and Vandy while Bama played OM and MSU
OOC UF played FSU and Bama played UMich
Don't see very much difference there, USC the only real difference

I'm pretty sure our second team gave up half of those scores in mop up duty... Notre dame didn't have nearly as much mop up duty despite a slightly weaker schedule

First of all, this is hilarious from you considering your Bo Jackson vs. Mark Ingram stat thread in which you didn't bother to check games played or which games were included in your stats. Second, if you add an average game on top of ND's stats, they still would have allowed less points than Bama did.

if you want to look at only points given up by the ACTUAL defense. Bama is better than ND.
BAMA has given up:
18 TDs (only 16 by the defense) and 5 FGs
so...16 * 6 = 96 points from TDs
5 * 3 = 15 points from FGs
Total of 111 points through 13 games. Defensive PPG of 8.5
ND has given up:
10 TDs (only 9 by the defense) and 18 FGs
so...9 * 6 = 54 points from TDs
18 * 3 = 54 points from FGs
Total of 108 points through 12 games. defensive PPG of 9
8.5 < 9
