Don't see ULL coming back at all..outta the loser's bracket to beat an SEC team in MSU with savvy HC..

Think Fla may well be kaput too vs that bracket's traditional toughies..

FSU with but two hits? Every day is a new day in Bases, but their mojo today suggests they make it 0-3 for these 0-1 natty seeds climbing back out the hole?

Just out of curiosity. What Super Regional is the Tallahassee regional matched up with?

P.S. If Alabama can somehow knock off FSU I think they have a fighting chance at taking 2 straight against either Georgia Southern or Kennesaw State. Unlikely, but not impossible.

ULL lost a total of 7 gsmes this year.

I can see them still winning their region.

They might not, but the are very capable.

I think FSU has the best chance of digging themselves out of the hole (reason being they can knock off their biggest threat while still fresh pitching on Saturday and get to day3 and beyond and face the "inferior" teams that didn't have a lot of pitching depth to begin with)....that said, it ain't easy working your way out of a regional in the losers bracket. Total guess off the top of my head, but I would venture to guess 80%+ of regional winners in the 4-team format started 2-0 in the regional.

When you go from having to play 3 games in 3 days to 5 games in 4 days , not to mention having to beat someone TWICE at the tail end, it's definitely an uphill climb and major disadvantage. It's certainly doable, but way more often than not it ain't gonna happen.

Game 1 is important, game2 is the most important of the regional, and if you go 2-0 and you're at home, you can pretty much start making Super Regional plans.

Losing to a SWAC team and getting no runs, they're not used to being in the spotlight(despite former CWS appearances in other era)..they've got SWAC on the brain after tonight..

Think Cohen's MSU will melt them down in short order, should ULL advance tomorrow.

Great thread.

IMO, in baseball losing by a slight margin to a lesser team is far from embarrassing. A stud pitcher can make all the difference. This is probably one of the reasons for the double-elimination format.

Losing 18-1 might be embarrassing though.

Nope. Had they won yesterday then they would have faced Ross Mitchell today and they would have probably lost, but would have had a good chance to eventually win it.

Now MSU gets JSU, doesn't have to throw their Ace in Mitchell because JSU should be an easy win, and we cruise to the final while ULL has to play 2 more games just to get to us. They don't have a deep bullpen and will be depleted by the final game while we will still likely have Bracewell, Lindgren, Holder, Woodruff etc ready to throw.

JSU winning yesterday should hand us the regional on a platter, barring us severely fricking things up.

I agree. Looking like an Egg Bowl Super. Serious question though...if Ole Miss blows their Regional, who would host? Assuming you Bulldogs would if GT or JS wins, but what happens in the case of the other 2 seed, Washington, winning? Coin flip?
