Regarding scheduling, would you be in favor of a conference mandate on OOC games?

Assuming we go to a nine game conference schedule, I would think, as fans, we would all be for the conference mandating guidelines as to the three OOC games.

I would love to see a requirement that 2 of the OOC games be against P5 teams, with the third being against any FBS/FCS team the school chooses. Or at least one P5 game, one G6 game, and one against any FBS/FCS. I would imagine you would get some serious pushback from coaches concerning the tougher schedules.

I’m in favor of 1 FCS, 1 G5 and 1 P5. Kind of ramp up the competition for 3 weeks until conference play starts.

Also can we get the 3/6 schedule already 2023? 2023 schedules are trash again. It’s going to be 12 years in the conference in 2023 and A&M hasn’t hosted Georgia or played Kentucky.

I would like an P5 conference challenge for the ACC and Big10 for 2 of them and a cupcake for the 3rd. The Big12 and PAC are not really power conferences once the latest moves happen so it fits perfectly.

HA-HA! What a pussy! (It will be acceptable however to exclude formerly powerful ACC schools.)

They need to do something. We're playing at last 2 P5 OOC annually now. What's the point if most of the rest of the SEC won't?

This is a national stage, multibillion dollar sport that sucks the big veiny at times due to scheduling.

There's no goddamn excuse for scheduling group of five or division II teams.

We get 12 regular season games and at a minimum, 3 will not be worth watching and if you've got Vandy on your schedule, make it four.

frick that shite. It needs to stop. Power five should only play power five and there should be no more than two out of conference games.

This sport is too goddamn big to have early, mid and late season scrimmage games.

Gat Tech is a P5 team in name only.

Not to your point, but it would interesting to require the half of the conference teams that are getting 5 (as opposed to 4) home conferences games to play their one P5 game on the road, thus guaranteeing that each year all teams play an equal number of home/away games (assuming the two "cupcakes" are home games)

Regardless of the specifics, imo, OOC scheduling should become a conference decision.

I'm not a UGA fan. Thought that was pretty obvious.

Agree with all of this, and would love for it to be phased in over a few years (only because there is no way in hell would it get approved for immediate implementation.)

I'd like to see 12 conference games a year and one OOC against a P5. With the new playoff structure coming losing a game isn't a big deal, even 2 games.

2020 proved an all SEC schedule can work and still win a title.

Also, time for neutral site games to end. If I have to endure Southern and Nee Nexico at home, I damn well deserve Florida State, too.

I think the biggest issue is just getting those schedules hammered out.

P5 games are scheduled YEARS in advance. Any "mandate" would need a start date probably in 2035 or so.

Can't speak for everyone, but Alabama's future schedules:

2025: FSU and Wisconsin
2026: WVU and FSU
2027: WVU and Ohio State
2028: Ohio State and Oklahoma State
2029: Notre Dame and Okie State
2030: Georgia Tech and Notre Dame
2031: GT and Boston College
2032: Arizona and Pending (was originally Oklahoma)
2033: Arizona and Pending (was originally Oklahoma)
2034: Virginia Tech and Boston College
2035: Virginia Tech and Pending

It remains to be seen if there are any P5 teams with room to schedule Alabama in 2032/2033. Thankfully the lesser games are not scheduled yet so there's more wiggle room on the schedule to accommodate.
