LOL....feel free to discount the fact that Alleva determined that O was a good fit instead of dragging out a search for a better candidate. Yet you continue to extend a coach who has averages 5 losses a year since 2013. THAT is the definition of “forced to settle”. We fired Miles for only averaging 10 wins a year for more than a decade.

None of what I said is in any way claiming victim status. I brought up the negative comments so as to help paint the scene surrounding LSU and Orgeron following his hiring. In order to truly grasp the greatness of the current situation, you must see how bad things were.

Maybe that happened, but I don't believe anyone really thinks that happened.

I didn't say we were lucky or good.

You claimed his success is only due to his luck, surely you don’t think we’re stupid enough to miss that.

Lmao! LSU was forced? Really.

LSU had jimbo, twice. But considering the circumstances of Florida state at the time, it would have been stupid to pay him the money he wanted. Only a fool who is desperate would make such a decision.

At the end of the day, call it whatever you want. Orgeron is undefeated vs barn. Has the number one recruiting class in the country, and has the number one team. Melt on that for a while.

Of course not. Half our fan base thought we should have made Belichik turn down the job before moving on to Saban, Meyer and Sean Payton.

I will give you O has so far turned out to be a great hire, and many here laughed (including myself) at it. Many from your own fanbase were severely ticked off about it too. It wasn't cool of you to jump on EKG like you did though. She is one of the most likeable posters here of any fanbase. She tries to stay above the fray here. I could expect it coming from the average Lsu fan, but you and Wolf are probably the most sane Lsu posters here, just sayin'...

No I did not...I implied that your school wanted multiple other candidates but did not get them and went back to O and it has turned out to be a great decision. I've said since 2017 that O impresses me.

I realize we live in a world of false narratives, but the LSU spin on the coaching search is surprising.

Work on your reading comprehension skills. Context clues can help you to provide depth to basic words.

Tell me again barn, what is Orgeron’s record vs Gus?
Tell me again Corndogs, how many championships has Ed won or NCG has he made it to?

As a head coach, he’s won as many as Gus bus as a head coach. But head to head he’s undefeated vs Gus Gus.

Exactly what I just explained in the prior post.

LSU did not want O to be the head coach, but they struck out on their other top candidates. They went back and settled for O. If they hadn't who knows what would have happened, but O has worked out so they were lucky they didn't get one of the other coaches they were trying to get.

By the way, alot of LSU fans will disagree - LSU was extremely talented when Orgeron took over.

For the most part. However, Miles racked up his recruiting class rankings with DBs, WRs, RBs and neglected the lines and LB positions and didn’t recruit enough quality QBs during his last few years.

O hasn’t been perfect, either, but the depth and overall talent level of the front 7 and OL has definitely improved under him.

Well it seemed like you were contributing LSU’s success under Orgeron to luck only. If I misunderstood, I apologize.

In all fairness, the majority of our fanbase felt this way too. So it’s not like LSU fans knew how this would go down.

You got that backwards. Everytime someone mentions them not doing anything they use their record against Auburn. Now that LSU's new tradition.

No he doesn't. Gus has won the West twice, the sec once, and made the NCG. O has done nothing conference or nationally wise. He only has a 3-0 record against Gus to put on his resume.

Absolutely right we blundered into it. Alleva only negotiated with Jimbo after the 2015 season and since he was out, he retained miles.

Then he only negotiated with Herman in the 2016 season and when he was out, he rushed to make a hire to make it look like he wasn’t spurned by Herman.

But that higher looks very good right now and certainly looks to be the most successful of the 3
