LSU was playing A&M in the final regular season game of 2015. It was known that miles would be fired after the game. Well LSU won (again) and miles was retained.

The following year Miles was fired after a disappointing start to the season and Ed Orgeron was named the interim head coach. After a coaching search that involved Jimbo Fisher, Tom Herman, and a few others, Ed Orgeron was named the full time head coach. Texas stole Herman at the last second, and jimbo wanted $75 million guaranteed (too much considering his Florida state program at the time)

Everyone laughed at LSU, they called LSU poors and other derogatory comments. Supposedly LSU would be relegated to infinite ineptitude while Texas and A&M would become powerhouses.

Fast forward to today, LSU is 8-3 vs top ten teams under Orgeron, LSU has the number 1 team in the country, and has the number one recruiting class in the country.

In retrospect, thank you A&M and Texas. Sincerely, all of LSU.

You're celebrating way too early considering Coach "Geaux Tiiiigers" hasn't won a damn thing yet

Catching lightning in a bottle with ONE TRANSFER QB AND ONE QB COACH-PASS GM COORDINATOR doesn't mean that Coach O was a better hire than those other guys

Has Coach O shown that he can recruit ALL POSITIONS, especially QB?

Can Coach O hire and develop a Staff, considering that the pass game coordinator is gonna be a hot commodity when the off-season hits, REALITY SAYS that he ain't gonna LOSE MONEY cause he loves living in BR so much

What does Coach O do when he leaves?

Before you get too smug and arrogant remember, the same thing that makes you laugh will one day make you cry

I get why you try to reason with them, but it's futile. That fanbase is like an offshoot of the nephilim.

Despite what you might believe, you’re not in any way the voice of a fan base.

Even in your own post, you question the validity of your claims by saying, “I don’t think.”

Meaning you don’t know.

There was a melt. And it was glorious.

Good grief.
You said “everyone.”
You were wrong.

Not sure what you want, but here’s your attention.

Ed Orgeron is now 7-3 vs AP Top 10 teams while at LSU. That's pretty damn solid. — Peter Burns (@PeterBurnsESPN) October 13, 2019 Orgeron has won 5 of his last 6 against Top 10 teams, including last season's bowl victory over UCF that snapped the Knights' nation-leading winning streak. All three of his losses to Top 10 competition have come against Nick Saban and Alabama. LSU beats Florida and it's time to admit: Coach O has become one of the best big game coaches in college football. Since the start of last year, he's 5-1 vs Top 10 teams (only loss to Bama). Same number of Top 10 wins as Dabo/Riley/Kirby combined over the same stretch. UN. REAL.

Including LSU fans. You guys are giving Mizzou a run for their money with this whole "playing the victim" schtick.

Lol, you dumbasses all said LSU would be a perpetual 7-8 win team. That LSU couldn’t afford a big time coach. Well eat shite.

Why are you yelling? This post is just stupid on so many levels.

LSU pays their coordinators more than anyone in the nation. It was part of the reason Orgeron agreed to a decreased salary. Joe Brady will get paid.

Orgeron signed a Top 10 QB last recruiting cycle.

Being undefeated and ranked #1 with a victory of one of those guys does in fact mean that to point, Orgeron has absolutely been the better hire.

He’s only demonstrating that he had a different mindset than most others, that is in no way reasoning. But yes, please let me hear you some more Missouri fan. Your opinions are as valuable as the Lincoln logs my dog leaves on the lawn.

They’re just mad, they over pay for coach after coach. And yet, they get the same results. LSU hires a defensive line coach from with. And he has the number one team in the country, the number one recruiting class, and has beaten many top ten teams. This same coach was a complete shite show at ole miss. But for some reason he wins here. It’s all luck though.... lol

DALSU should make an appearance somewhere in your thread. That dude had some serious posters leaning on his every post. He seemed to be the only poster with “inside knowledge” of that entire Jimbo to LSU scenario.

About your main point, all Coach O has left to do on his career list is beat Alabama and win the West as LSU’s Head Coach. When he does that, he has fully evolved as a bona fide elite LSU coach. Winning an SEC championship should fall in place right after that.
