True...LSU will always have great classes. Still what separate or doesn't allow LSU to consistently be great is the offensive line.

LSU has not always had great classes. We have struggled getting serious talent on the offensive line. La'el Collins would have been a top 5 pick, but besides him, LSU hasn't had an offensive lineman drafted on day 1 since Alan Faneca in 1998.

That's exactly my point LSU inability for whatever reasons to develop and recruit consistently along the offensive line has hurt them.

To your other point... I don't think LSU has finished outside the Top 15 recruiting but maybe once in the last 16 years or so.

Last time LSU had a class finish outside the top 15 was 21 in 2002.

Those class rankings are meaningless out of context. I'm not really impressed by some of the classes Miles brought in when they were loaded at skill positions he wasn't going to utilize, but lacking on both lines.

Hate to lose him, but if he’s truly flipping because his moral conscience tells him to, I don’t fault the kid. Whole situation is a black eye on the university. Really sucks. Hope it never happens again.

Statement from Les Miles about the whole sordid situation:

quote:

If you look at them dern girls like wow then say it's a long way back to the cupboard, well, that is what happened.

Sometimes you measure, golly, it's going to be a strong contest but then rolling in the sand is not a good strategy.

Did they have the chest is what we evaluated and water does not mix with oil so, that's the way the celery crumbles. We have a young team and my wife, have you looked at her yourself?

damn, the maturity continues. again, bravo. I agree with you. It is a bit of a black eye for those who pay attention and I also hope it never happens again at your school, my school, or any school.

I looked at the thread on LSURB linked on page 1 of this thread. Looks like the majority of responses claim that the kids flipped b/c Bama paid them. Tired response. Not saying boosters don't get overzealous at all schools. They do. I don't think there is a coordinated pay program in place, nor do i think it is necessary. Bama can sell kids on: championships, biggest games each year, playing with and against elite talent, putting more players in NFL and 1st round than any other school. That's enough.

Cool picture.

Strange how the Bucs went 12 years without making the playoffs until they added Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski and Antonio Brown, huh?

It’s truly a well known fact that lsu players as a whole do way better than bama players in the league

Donta Hightower and his 3 rings disagree.

1. This has nothing to do with LSU and putting players in the NFL. If your point is that TB needed to sign FAs to make it happen, yes. But again doesn't dispute that LSU puts a ton of talent in the NFL.

2. TBs Defense won them that game. Devin had 12 tackles and a pick in that game. He led the D.

3. You "conveniently" forgot one FA:

Did you just post about how LSU LB needed Brady to win a SB and then brag about a lesser LB having 3 rings solely because he played with Brady?

Okay? I don't live in Mississippi either

Also not sure why you're so quick to defend someone who made a clearly false statement
