A few years ago i was lucky enough to go to the Old Firm, which is a Scottish soccer rivalry that is sort of surreal and honestly not even fun because the atmosphere is so sour.

I don’t expect next year’s game in Oxford to be that bad, but I definitely think it will be more poisonous than when Saban came back to BR in 2008.

It should be fun but I don’t think it will be as bad as Lane’s return to UT.

Fans are mad at him but still appreciate what he did. There’s a difference. Ask again after the dust settles from the portal though

It’s probably enjoyable if you’re a Scottish soccer fan.

In my trips to the UK, they love to act like they are big sports fans but a 90 minute soccer game is all they care about. There's not really any sports talk outside of the game and only while it is on.

The LSU/Tennessee game after Katrina/Rita. First home game that year because of the storms. Game got pushed to Monday night. A lot of pent up emotions came out that game, especially to start. Could'nt get it to last though, as everyone was drained in the second half except for the Vols, and they came back and nipped us in the end. Les Miles first home game and only regular season loss that year. That environment was super hostile. LSU fans busted out the window of one of the Tenn buses driving into the stadium.

Old Firm is more than just a soccer rivalry. It is pretty embedded in Scottish culture as a battle between Catholics and Protestants.

I was at that game and honestly it didn't have nearly the vitriol you would have expected. Of course they booed him when he first came out of the tunnel but after that it was just a game. It had been a few years since he left them so there had been some time for the wounds to scab over, I guess, plus Tennessee sucked and everyone knew that we were going to win.

Mizzou-kU in 2007. Playing for number one in the polls as WVU lost.

So. Many. Right.

It was, like a gladiator event. No one sat the entire night.

Best sporting event I’ve ever seen.

Before the game I was walking over to a tailgate and saw these three big Missouri farm boys and pretty big girls walking through the lot. These kU frat faggits started fvcking with them. It was six on the four (and one was a girl).

The farm boys absolutely beat them within an inch of their lives.

Blood and hair and teeth everywhere.

Believe me, it won't be as chippy as anyone believes. It's Ole Miss.

They'll boo and throw some shite on the field, be penalized for it and then settle down for their arse whipping.

Mizzou vs ku in 2007. First time ever at Camarohead. MIZZOU was #3 & ku was #2. Beers thrown, fights, somewhere between MU up by 21 and me going to the head, I came back, and security was trying to throw out my whole section. Security just gave up..as the game got a little close. Best scene if the night was some chic walking up to seated senior MIZZOU fans, and putting a "SLAVERS" sign right in their face, and grandma got up a napped her 3xs before this Johnson County whore could blink. Craziest & chippiest game i ever attended.

High school basketball game at Glen Oaks. Their fans were threatening the refs.
