Because Rutgers was an AAU school in a large market they didn’t have. and at the time, that mattered.. but that isn’t really true going forward

ECU > Missouri

Missouri added nothing but a market..

ECU would have added a bigger market (almost double that of Missouri) , they are pretty good at baseball, and they were a better regional fit for the East Division.

Clearly UNC is the prize in North Carolina, but they weren’t available..

I’m not saying ECU is some great addition.. just better than Missouri, but the bar is really fricking low..

That was a rhetorical question for the Gator fan

This is the SECRant, so I will not defend the Big 10's poor decision-making.

However, the SEC only wants large, state schools that expand their market and can be plausibly considered to be "regional".

The beginning and end of the expansion list has always been these schools since 1992.

Texas
Oklahoma
A&m
Missouri
North Carolina
Virginia
Clemson
FSU

Half have already said yes, and any future expansion will come from that group.

2025 - now think back to the OP and remember what year we're actually talking about. You haven't rubbed two brain cells together this entire conversation.

I believe Miami was also a candidate for the 1992 expansion.

Who are you quoting? No one has said that. Perhaps you should go play in the corner by yourself.

Morgantown, West Virginia is North of Columbia, Missouri and West Virginia is not a Southern State by its own choice.

And No. East Carolina does not "access the North Carolina tv market" because they are not one of the four big schools and do not have a large following.

Memphis, Tulsa, Houston, Cincinnati, Louie-ville, Miami are all outlaw schools and NONE of them belong in the SEC. Period.
