I am against conference expansion. My view with this is that the SEC could be killing itself by trying to get 14 teams.
aTm is a glorified military dress up school with male cheerleaders.

More hated than the Arkansas fanbase?
My wife's best friend and her husband are aggies. She is the only woman I have ever wanted to punch in the face.
She once told me bama couldn't win a game at Kyle field! She actually said the fact that coach frick face Fran went to a&m was because they had a better program than alabama! They are fricking crazy, just wait till they find the rant!

10.
All good for everyone involved. 24 million Texans will have a vested interest in the SEC - a team to pull for and a reason to watch.
While Texas A&M is playing monster nationally televised games against Alabama, Florida, and LSU the silly Texas Longhorns will be playing meaningless games with Baylor, Kansas State, and Texas Tech.

2.
I didn't want a Texas school in the SEC (for geographic and cultural reasons).
But, at least aTm has very good academics, a very strong endowment, very strong student and alumni sport, and good football, basketball, and baseball.
They are just so.damn.weird.

10 if the SEC must expand. There is no other team that I think would be a better choice to join the conference unless it is Florida State or Georgia Tech. I don't think expansion is necessarily a good thing. Each team now plays each team in the division plus 3 games against teams in the other division. How will the scheduling work? I guess there will be one more team, at least, that joins the SEC to balance out the East and the West, or am I wrong? I would prefer that each team play more teams from the other division rather than fewer, but that may be unrealistic.
Having said that, I always liked playing Tex A&M in the past. It's a good road trip, and from what I remember the TAMU fans seem to be pretty good folks. I do think TAMU will get its arse kicked more often than it does now; it does not have the level of talent that LSU, Alabama, Auburn, Florida, and some of the other SEC teams have, though I think the school has the resources to compete if it makes the commitment.
I do not think it will adversely affect LSU's recruiting.

I disagree. I think they will pick up more top ranked Texas players who want to play in the SEC, but want to stay close to home. I also think they will garner more money due to SEC association which would improve facilities, etc. They will be a very competitive school in a few years. Like an Arkansas or USCe (present) plus or minus.
