Enrollment numbers that matter when talking about a school are the people on the main campus.
You can say Ole Miss has 20k students if you count the branches and the medical school in Jackson, but the reality is there are about 17k students in Oxford.
The University of Arkansas has 70k students, including the medical school in Little Rock and all the branch campuses. But nobody ever says our enrollment is 70k, because there are only around 25k students in Fayetteville.

Florida's numbers were also overstated. Updated to reflect that. A&M stays #1

It's none of my business, but this to me is incredible... or at least it was until I remembered how stinkin' old I am. Your dad may have been a classmate of mine. I can't imagine him going there much before me because of his race.
He grew up in Bryan, and his mother and several of my uncles worked for the university, but my dad was the first in his family to attend A&M. Obviously he's extremely proud of that and the fact that he attended his hometown school. Growing up, he taught me an my sibs every Aggie tradition, so naturally we gravitated toward A&M, I guess

In recent years Florida has actually cut back enrollment slightly. In 2009 they were almost at 51,000.
UCF takes the title of largest university in Florida now with almost 60,000.

I actually knew this. It's insane!!

Is UCF a mostly commuter school?

Texas A&M can claim an extensive network including Texas A&M Qatar if you start counting affiliated campuses.

OP only wanted main campuses, though.

I wonder how the Ags would feel in a small university like Arkansas or Ole Miss.
I see where those questioning A&M's "corporate" feel. I think they are thrown by the sheer size of our school, both in numbers and footprint size.
I always felt the school had a small feel to it, but it's what I always knew. On A&M feeling as if there is no definitive line to campus/surrounding area, that's just dead wrong. The campus feel of A&M was one of many reasons I chose it over UT in Austin.
My personal tie to the school was Bonfire. Through my spot there, I had a lot of dealings with the Corps and Non Regs, so I saw all sides of the place. I fricking loved cutting down trees and then the logistics of building that beast.

"too big for their britches."
New freshman, arriving late to a class at UGA due to problems negotiating the bus system connecting north and south campus:
"whoo whee. That bus was so crowded some old boy coulda raped me and I woulda never known who did it. "
Scowl on professor's face noticeably softened.

If bigger meant better, poor Vandy would be at the bottom of the academic heap and Alabama would be a second tier football power.

A&M's number is deceiving. We consider Doha, Qatar and Galveston a part of the main campus.

Pretty sure that is considered a main campus and included in that figure
