I'd go UGA and Bammer 1/2 at the top due to the combo of elite returning back and 5 star talent behind them. Then LSU/State/Auburn/Florida behind them due to solid returners and other talented backs in the mix.
Beyond that, it's anyone's guess.
1) UGA
2) Bammer
3) State - Hill is the best returning talent of this tier
4) LSU
5) Auburn
6) Florida
7 to 14 - who knows?

Had Crockett stayed I think we would have had a top 3 core.
I just dont see Badie or even Bakare being a real big threat yet. Rountree will be a household name tho.

Too much credit. He gets the opportunity to ruin his Junior AND Senior year.

Yea that was a tough loss. I was really impressed with Crockett/Roundtree last year. Missouri played physical football.

I would also like to point out Rose Smoke Rodriguez (Rod is 3rd string) would make one hell of a name for a Latin female super hero and or stage name for a stripper.

Chandler, Jordan and Banks are a pretty good rotation. That said, we can't run block (and when I say that I mean that we were in the bottom 100s of all CFB teams last season) so it likely won't matter unless Chaney gets them more involved in the passing game (which I believe is the goal for this season).

If Ealy comes we will be sneaky good with him and Phillips in the new run scheme. Not sure how likely that would actually happen though.

Pretty early in the season, I would look for the rotation to be Ty Chandler, Tim Jordan, and Eric Gray.
I don't see any way Gray doesn't crack the lineup pretty early on.

Georgia and Alabama are 1 and 2.
LSU has really good young backs. Arkansas, Florida, Missouri, Miss St, Tennessee, and maybe Ole Miss are not going to lose any games because of their backs. All have good to really good players and units.

Boyd(of Last Chance U fame) and Whaley will be a great duo if they can stay healthy.

And if our line can play well. With the way our O-line has played the last few years we could have Jackson, Walker, and McFadden and still struggle to run the ball.

Would not be a bit surprised if Eric Gray is the #2 behind Tykevious by season’s end. Timmy Jordan is a slaw dog imo.

So tough to rank them with all the new faces, and I’m not going to pretend to know much about the new guys at other SEC schools aside from their reputation as recruits. I do think Emery will seize that LSU job and give them a gamebreaking element in the backfield that’s been missing since Fournette left. If I were to pick a most improved group it would be them.
A&M fans are excited about Corbin but I don’t know if he can shoulder the load Williams carried last year and think we need a between the tackles compliment to step up as well. It looked like it would be Vernon Jackson before he got hurt. There are certainly options in that regard though

Basically CEH, Emery, and TDP. Curry and Fournette will both be outclassed when the freshmen get on campus.
We already know Clyde is a small, unyielding, quick RB but he lacks breakaway speed and sometimes has vision/patience problems.
Emery is just a crazy athlete at RB with the speed, acceleration, agility, vision, and patience to make any coach blush. The only worry about him is durability.
TDP is a north and south runner with great size and speed. Limited lateral agility but good vision. He’s basically Leonard Fournette but no where near as strong and without the elite balance.
ETA: and Emery is going in with a chip on his shoulder as well. Kids at Destrehan and around the river parishes still think he’s not as good as Pooka Williams (from Destrehan’s rival) who went to Kansas and he’s ready to shut them up.

I'd say that I'd probably take Georgia's #1
Without knowing how Zamir comes back, I'd be reluctant to put us at the top of the heap. Swift is obviously a strong #1 option... but it's a significant drop from Swift to Herrien or Cook... at least based on what has been shown thus far. Herrien and Cook looked improved at G-day in some aspects, and obviously, spring games aren't great barometers for running back skill... but still color me skeptical for now.

Yet Texas A&M will have a potent run game. Which rb led the SEC last year?

I’m curious to see if Cadillac coaching instead of old white man Horton will help improve our RBs’ game. One would think so.
