I will reserve my judgment of uga's d until they are not trying desperately to hide the fact they are playing a white walk on safety in addition to true freshmen all over the place against an explosive offense. That being said, Norman played pretty well. Hell I would just like for once the other team to be called out on their ol holding.

I get that Mizzou and UT were playing inferior opponents, but UGA is too high here. Only two defenses gave up more YPP than they did (Miss and UK). Clemson averaged 6.28 yards per play last year and UGA only held them to 6.14. Some of that drop off could probably be attributed to CU not having Hopkins and Ellington more than anything UGA did.

I was really surprised with how easily UF shut down a pretty good offensive team in Toledo. It was pretty impressive especially considering how many players were out. I thought of the East teams I watched this weekend, it was the best defensive performance.

It's probably just a matter of perspective, and I can respect yours. UF did a great job against Toledo, but UNC was no slouch in the offensive game either. Renner is probably the second or third best passer in the ACC and we cut his YPP nearly in half. We did give up more yards to them than you guys gave to Toledo, but we did it on 25 more plays as well.

Either way it's probably a 1a and 1b situation...

I think the one thing that stood out was holding them to 1 of 13 on 3rd down conversions. But I agree, both are probably the class of the East and possibly the entire conference.

Dude, we're not #1. We looked good, yes, but it was Austin Peay. We've got three weeks before we know what our defense is all about.

Hey man...take what you can get and don't argue! I don't think we have the #3, either right now, but I won't argue!

Hey. I have to agree. I think our Defense will get better...might even be pretty decent. but right now? no.

SouCar and Flordia will easily have the best defenses in the SEC East when it is all said and done. I didn't watch Florida this past weekend. SouCar looked good MOST of the time. Often you made NC look absolutely slow.

This probably shows closer to how I think. Hopefully we can clsoe the gap a bit as the season goes along. But right now, Florida and SouCar are head and shoulders above the rest. I'm not totally convinced there is a gap between us and the rest of the SEC East.
