Tennessee is averaging over 19K per game this year with a straight trash roster that will win 14 games this season.

UT is definitely up and coming in the college basketball world. But there is only two established basketball cultures in the SEC. Thats UK and Arkansas

How do you say Tennessee doesn’t care about basketball when they are getting 19K a night in the building to watch a team that won’t make the NIT?

Years ago State had a great home court advantage and then they screwed up the student section about 10 years ago and we have been pitiful ever since. Now realizing about 6-7 of those years the team was bad/mediocre/average. But even now the Hump creates a terrible atmosphere for the home team. Again because of where the students are forced to sit now.

Today against Auburn the atmosphere maybe a bit better because we have a good team this year although students are still out. I don’t ever see it getting back to what it was unless they change the student section back to what it was. :(

Bro Miss State scares me. They have quick guards, but more importantly they have a competent coach

Best thing AU ever did was put the students in the floor seats.

We may have a small arena, but we really maximize the space we have perfectly

Capacity might only be just over 9k, but the way it's designed and built make it feel like twice that

Rupp Arena may be able to sit 20k plus, but the stands seems far away from the court and the crowd is quiet and subdued

Auburn Arena the stands are almost right up against the court, the fans seem like they're right on top of you (even the upper deck seems that way bc of how it's designed), and nearly the whole lower section is allocated for students most games so the crowd gets rowdy af and right in your ear too

As an LSU fan, I wish this were true but it simply isn’t. Our prime seats are held by old people who sit on their hands even during close games.

They need to move our student section to the sidelines before we can be put on and home court list.

When the lower bowl is on their feet it can get insanely loud (see against UofL last weekend).

But it’d be 100 times better if they built boxes for the blue hairs and moved students around the floor.

GEOMETRY is cool like that. Bigger areas feel bigger.

Tennessee had 16,000 or so today. A good not great LSU team beat them pretty easily. Tennessee hit 13 of 26 threes and we still beat them by 14. Did not notice the crowd at any point.

Agree on Bud Walton and Rupp.

Even Bama is pretty loud.
