I have maintained for years that he is one of the worst coaches in college athletics, obviously nothing about today's game changes that, but I do have a question for LSU fans.

I just got back from the game and I noticed that almost every single timeout LSU's 5 players that were in the game would leave the huddle and go stand on the court a good 30 seconds before the first horn even blew.

I have seen JJ coach before and noticed it a little bit but today's game was every single timeout.

Has this become a routine thing with him? Seems you would want every second you could get with your team when they are playing as poorly as they did today.

People shite on Calipari all the time calling him just a recruiter and saying he just rolls the ball on the court. Well I think LSU right now is a perfect example of what happens when you truly do that. Calipari is actually decent at coaching. Jones is a recruiter and nothing more.

I won't quite say he's Dooley-level... but he's at least somewhat close.

LSU also called a timeout after a Tennessee run, and immediately turned the ball over on an out of bounds play. That's bad off of a timeout.

Jones can at least recruit. Dooley was just awful.

If Jones is garbage, Dooley was raw sewage.

That's true.

Trust me, Jones is not as bad as Dooley. He may be a little close, but not very close.

Dooley is the worst head coach to ever coach in the SEC in any sport.

Johnny Jones is the worst coach I think I've ever seen. At times they've played great defense (win over Kentucky), but many times they let guys drive baseline, let them go to the hoop unhindered, it's pitiful.

Their offensive scheme is awful. It looks like either pass to Simmons, or just go 1-on-1. I have never seen so many airballs and backboard airballs in my entire life - looked like a youth church league team.

But the real killer is when they play without passion, like they did today against Tennessee. I don't care WHAT is happening, ANYBODY can, and should hustle and play hard. NO EXCUSE for lazy, slack play.

Jones should be fired, but her probably won't be because he can recruit and he's black. But he sure can't coach;.

This has been a pet peeve of mine since JJ started coaching at LSU.

LSUs players wander around the court for several minutes before the horn blows. You are spot on. This happens every timeout. I've never seen anything like it.

He's an atrocious X and O coach and I hope he is let go after this season.

However, he will be leaving this program infinitely better than he found it IMO. He improved every year until this year in both record and post season appearances. He has, until recently, really regained program momentum. Trent Johnson left LSU in the absolute gutter. If we get a new coach, they are probably taking over an NCAA tourny talent level team even with our departures. Our attendance is wayyy up. Our season ticket sales are wayyyy up. Etc.

He legitimately cannot coach on the court, but he is a great "program" guy and recruited his arse off. I want him gone, but wish we could have him as an assistant (aawwwkwardd).

He somehow figures out how to coach against Kentucky.

LSU won the first matchup this year, lost on a last second shot last year, went 1-1 in the regular season in 2014 (loss was in OT, and then was blown out in the SECT), and lost a close one on the road in 2013. Every year Kentucky has been the more talented team by far. That is really his only claim to fame outside of Simmons.

Yeah, he was taught as a player by one of the worst bench coaches of his era...Dale Brown. Unlike Dale though, JJ can not recruit well enough to overcome his pathetic coaching style.
