And Clemson did nothing approaching what UGA is doing in a much stronger conference.
They won two natties, both against Alabama.

Yeah it’s apples and oranges, really too. As much as my hate for Alabama is apparent, Saban is as elite as they come in terms of recruiting and evaluating. Some school classes just aren’t up to par with their normal grabs, some overall high school classes are weaker than others. This high school class seems pretty damn solid and Saban has a haul. Saban will always lose a few to the portal, but he stockpiles and it shows year in and year out.

If half of the guys we signed today are on the roster 2-3 years from now and contributing that would be a success.
The way it used to be was saban got to keep most all of them for 4 years and hoard them from other teams. There was much more depth.
Instead of watching a Drew Sanders at Arkansas tearing it up, 10 years ago at alabama he would've been an elite backup and provided depth before eventually becoming a starter his senior season.
Guys like Cohen that started and got significant playing time, they decide to heck with the competition and transfer out of the program to be a full time starter. A significant piece of depth hits the road.
Aaron Anderson, the #35 player in the 2022 class (#1 overall player in Louisiana) decides to hit the road to LSU after not getting playing time his Freshman year.
The examples go on and on, and will continue to.

In today's world, a guy like Reuben Foster who saw little action asides from special teams his first few years hits the transfer portal well before sitting around at alabama for 4 full years.
He can get a starting position earlier and make it to the NFL earlier now.

Exactly not many of the players that ha e transfered out have amounted to much but meanwhile Saban has pulled some productive transfers

So after the transfers they ended with 11 top 100 players? That’s pretty darn impressive!
Signing 16 top 100 players seems high. That was an impressive class.
