Questions about LSU vs Tennessee

Wanted to gain the knowledge of the SEC Rant on the following questions:

1.) Which program is currently in better shape?

LSU. However, Tennessee may should win 8+ games this year. LSU should also. Recruiting-wise, Tennessee is right behind LSU.

2.) Which program has been better since 1999?
LSU

3.) Which program has been better since 1970?

Hard to say. LSU has had 10 losing seasons in that 45 year time frame. However, we have also been to 33 bowl games, won 8 SEC titles, and won 2 National Titles since 1970.

Disclaimer: Not at all trying to rip or attack Tennessee. Trying to settle an argument.

TIA

1. LSU - but Tennessee is closing the gap

2. LSU

3. LSU by a hair. This one could go either way

Why would you engage in an agrument if you don't even know enough about the history of these two programs to answer these very easy questions on your own?

look 1 & 2 are no brainer LSU. people who act like #3 is no brainer Tenn are wrong though.

Looking at #3 'which program has been better since 1970' in the fashion of 1970 to 1999, then yes, its no brainer Tenn.

but "since 1970" includes 1999 untill present....

So LSU still has more titles and NC games appearance in that span of 1970 til present. i still would prolly say Tenn for #3 but just saying, its a trickier question than the first two.

Yes Fulmer called for us to hit Rohan out of bounds! You people are crazy.

I was at the game and yes we were ahead at halftime so I consider the second half to be where we melted down and lost it.

I'd say LSU on all three.

first two rather easy.

since 1970 includes the last 15 years and UT wasn't some national powerhouse in the 70's

close call but da tigahs sweep

1 is close imo. I see many of the same signs in LSU's program that I saw towards the end of Fulmer's time at Tennessee. Both schools are recruiting well but neither team has a very good head coach imo. Miles has proven more than Jones though so I would go with LSU. I certainly don't think LSU will win big again with Miles though.

2 is LSU by a wide, wide margin.

I think Tennessee for 3 but an argument could be made for LSU depending on what you value as far as wins vs. conference titles vs. national titles, etc.

The answer is LSU to all 3. Now move along. Nothing to see here.

The thing about that 2001 SECCG that made it so sweet was how little respect Tennessee showed LSU. UT cheerleaders were handing Vol players roses when they got off the bus also, Fulmer and several UT players attended the college football awards show that week (the schedule was all out of whack bc of 9/11), which was a huge slap in the face to LSU. Josh Reed actually won the Biletnikoff but wasn't there to accept it.

The players weren't the only ones. I was all ready to spend a week in Pasadena for Christmas and New Year's. Had the hotel and flight booked prior to the game. Possibly the most confident I've ever been walking in to a game.

I could not believe how poorly we played. fricking Chavis could not stop those damn QB draws.

2001 LSU was a beast on offense, I actually think y'all did pretty well to hold us to only 31 given how they were playing at that point. Donte Stallworth's fumble was pretty clutch though.

Charles McLendon had died the day before the game as well so there was just a lot of emotion from the LSU community and it was a major turning point game for the program. One of my 3 or 4 favorite LSU memories.

1. LSU
2. LSU
3. LSU
For this one, UT has 11 more wins since 1970, but LSU has more SEC Titles and NCs.
