Question: Why did Saban hire Butch Jones?

I'm just curious... and don't start flame-throwing here... I can think of 2 reasons... 1) He wants to help Jones... 2) Jones knows UT's personnel and may help Saban in scouting for next year. What are other ideas?

He didn’t have any lesbians on his staff so he hired one to preemptively avoid any controversy for not being diverse enough. Always thinking ahead...
However he’s only getting paid like 30 g’s so the gender pay gap might become a problem

He’s a quality coach (not head coach) and came cheap

Probably watch tape of practice and of opponents and help with the game planning each week. It's really not a mystery

Maybe he just wanted Butch to see how winning in the UA-UTjr. rivalry feels like.....
