Had a bunch of smokers as fans in the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. Couldn’t do it.

Other than cowbells and contentment in mediocrity, Mississippi State doesn't have much tradition. Over the years, they have tried to do some things, but nothing sticks. The Chuck Smooth version of Who Let the Dogs Out was popularized in the late 90s (way before the Baja Men version). We let that die. Mullen's idea of playing Dont Stop Believin before the fourth quarter had some cool moments. We let that die. The Famous Maroon Band plays that pedophile song that our crowd can't get the beat of on the cheer. Of course that's still happening.

State guilt is a very real thing amongst our older alums.

Back in the ‘80’s there was some barking during the Bulldog Blitz days. Also remember a couple years with Coach Sherrill’s Dog Pound Rock there was some barking. For the most part, it’s been cowbells as long as I can remember and I’ve always thought that was less strange than grown adults barking like a dog.

So, what's more annoying:

GA fans barking
Cowbells
The Vandy whistler
Rocky Top

We really only have to deal with the whistler a few weeks a year.

And the answer is always Rocky Top as to what is most annoying.

Everyone hates the cowbells until they get their hands on one. Tale as old as time.

We have one cheer with barks but you don’t hear it much.

“Barking” -everybody else

What's ironic is this wet blanket attitude is probably our most enduring tradition

Too young to remember "Who let the Dogs out" song with the barking?

This isn't the same. The "woof, woof woof" is part of the song.

This isn't:

I can't stand when UGA fans bark AT opposing fans or in their faces, but every fanbase has their obnoxious ones. The only time I like the barking is at the end of "Gooooo Dawgs, Sick'em" on kickoffs.

The MSU cowbell tradition is cool, but gets old after awhile.

Kinda cool how the fans customize their bells to make them their own.

I stopped carrying a bell to games during my college years but I have my grandads cowbell sitting in my office that’s from the 60’s and one signed by Mike Leach.

Go back and read the question. I answered it correctly. Now the other you showed was just silly but alcohol and teenagers rarely is a good combination.

I'm prob in the minority but I like the cowbells.
Signifies tradition to me.

I don’t get the connection with Mississippi, Bulldogs, nor cowbells.

I honestly was lost on the connection between gators & the shark movie.

But now reading MSU was doing it, …
