You missed out. Lil ash in da gumbo won't do no harm
He was sweating profusely as well, which was also going right into the gumbo. Wiping his belly sweat and going right back to tossing in ingredients as he was stirring.
I am sure it was great, but it is kinda of like being offered a hotdog as you see it being made.
No thanks

No one is going to invite you to a tailgate, Stingray. You're too much of a celebrity.

Next time you come to the grove, come by our tent. I'll have something special made for you!

Some people just don't know how to get along in this ole world of ours.

Didn’t have a great experience at the Grove, to be honest. But to be fair, the weather was shitty and rainy. But I wouldn’t let it prevent me from going back. I’ll be there in a few weeks. But cramming as many people as possible into a small space isn’t my favorite type of set up at all.
For the most part, unless you’re looking for trouble or being a dick, folks are good. The only terrible experience I’ve had was in Boulder. The CU fans were terrible.
And I never let an opposing fan pass by our tailgate at Kyle without inviting them to join. It’s expected, and pretty much a given around our corner of the football world.

No doubt, but this ole coonass was no pitmaster and he was not working on bbq. And it was about 70 degrees, no reason to be sweating like that.
Whole situation reminded me of wrong turn or deliverance.
think of a fat coach o, stirring a pot, ashing in the gumbo, wiping sweat and snot, looking at you crossed eyed and saying "dat dem rewbles, gumbo baw, ahhheeee"

Stop while you are behind. With every post you are making the situation sound better while subsequently telling on yourself for being a man of very weak constitution and/or poor rearing.

LSU fans were extremely kind to my family last season. Gave them food Whiskey and everything.

Did you stroll by tents and have people invite you to their tailgate and feed you, offer you hospitality, etc.?
Yes, multiple times.
It’s also possible they were trying to frick our wives/girlfriends before the OM fans knew we were trailing behind.

I’m blackballed from all grove tailgates after getting caught red handed lifting a tray of pigs-in-a-blanket

My brother and dad were both frat bro's (different frats) so I always had multiple places to grab free food and drink in the Grove.

just walk through there and folks will offer you food and drink and take care of you and make sure you have a good time and blah, blah, blah”…..I have literally never seen it happen. Not one time. Not at Ole Miss, not anywhere…
As a rule of thumb, Only happens if visitors have friends, etc at the home team tailgates.
I did have someone offer us a beer and food at a tailgate back in the 90s. Don’t even remember which team though. Maybe South Carolina. I also have some friends who were invited/treated well at a Texas A&M tailgate. But it’s exceedingly rare outside of some pre-existing connection.

I've been once, in 2018. My buddy and I were walking into the Grove with beers in koozies and a cop politely asked us to pour them into a cup instead. He said if we didn't have one, any Ole Miss fan nearby would give us one. We walked to the nearest tent and not only did an Ole Miss fan give us a dixie cup, he filled each one with a strong Screwdriver.

At LSU you will always get a "tiger bait want a beer and some jambalaya?" Or something similar. Not at the frat tailgates as much but over by the law school and Indian mounds or the RV parking lots. The older folks that show up early to cook want to feed people especially if it's a hog roast for Arky game or gator for a UF game. But, there are exceptions that are assholes.
There are exceptions, Grove only been with friends who were going there so I can't say.

I visited in 2017. Ole Miss fans were fine. We weren't invited to anyone's tailgate or anything, but the fans weren't hostile to us either. Minus one or two frat boys that were obnoxious. The main thing remember is some of the ridiculous cover charges to get into the bars in downtown Oxford though.
