How good is your center? If he's a B+ or better, you've got a shot. UConn's weakness is teams that can hit a lot of threes and have a good center (Creighton put on a clinic to prove that).

Trick Question: We don’t have a center

Nick Pringle is an elite rebounder and solid post defender but just fair at rim protection. He also fouls a lot and has a lot of trouble finishing at the rim

Grant Nelson is good at everything but a master at nothing. Potential to explode but potential to underwhelm

I wish we could age freshman Mo Dioubate 2 years this week. He’s gonna be a hell of a slashing/rebounding/defending power forward by the time he’s done

Alabama doesn’t have any basketball fans. Hell, they can’t even spell basketball.

We don't have one. 2 Forwards, 3 guards.

What he said.

As Glorious mentioned, after Bediako unexpectedly declared last year, Pringle sort of failed to develop during the off-season, and Nelson is really a stretch-four forced to play the five. Both however have arguably had the best games of their careers in the past two rounds, respectively.

We've had this issue all season, and have had to adapt various strategies to counteract physical bigs.

If Purdue's Edey didn't exist, UConn's Clingan might be the best big-man in college basketball. He's projected as possibly the third-overall pick in the draft.

That being said, we played Edey earlier in the year, and they only beat us 92–86.

It's possible that Oats dials up something, our guys play the games of their lives, and we run with them all night. It's also possible that we get run right out of the building like everyone else.

We'll see.

The good news for the Tide is that three-point shooting against UConn is more important than having an elite center, but it's gonna be tough. I think this will be the Huskies' toughest game so far, but Alabama will need to shoot the lights out to stand a chance if they don't have a big man to protect and threaten the rim.

Might suck more for him if he realized that we passed PorkU on the all time wins list this year, too.

Our best shot is to run that 7-footer up and down the court all night long. If we do that, their center will either tap out our foul out at the 28:00 mark. Then it is on!

Will be interesting to see what Oats does when UCONN's big center is in the game.

He actually had some success against Purdue by going with 5 3 pt shooters on the floor and daring Edey to guard one of them. Didn't stop Edey on offense that often but traded a lot of 3's for 2's on the other end.

Perhaps the bigger concern is UCONN has the size and quickness when their center is NOT in the game to close down Bama's shooters on the perimeter.
