I'm flattered that you think we are powerful enough to bring down the SEC.

For me at Arkansas, the only downside of leaving the swc was losing our game against texas so having that back isn’t a negative. Now with this board we can pick at one another. We were never in the big12 but if you want to go there then that’s fine with me.

I wasn't alive for the Game of the Century, but I do remember the Hogs getting the best of Texas more times than I care for. Probably Houston Nutt's "horns down" made me realize the game between Texas and Arkansas is the real deal.

I am happy to have Arkansas as a third rival and I respect the school, team, and state.

You don't think we've known the lowdown on Texas A&M (and their hundred year decision) from afar.

We don't have to be "here" to know what's going on. (and what people are saying)

I feel like ESPN just said here's what we're doing and here's why you'll like it.

This is correct. Sankey is basically an ESPN employee playing SEC Commissioner. Slive was the last true SECC.

Otherwise I think the main point is covered. A&M was very happy being in the SEC without Texas and all of the baggage that goes with it. Personally I was hoping Texas would go to the B1G but my guess is OU didn't want them (they are snobby as hell about the AAU) and ESPN was pushing hard for Texas to come to the SEC so they could bury the LHN and didn't want to lose them to Fox. I'd much rather the SEC added Clemson and FSU that are much more culturally a fit than Texas and OU. I still firmly believe adding Texas will eventually kill the SEC and make the move to Super Conferences inevitable but it was probably inevitable anyway.

As for playing them now that's fine, the game itself is something I always grew up with and the hate is certainly still there. There is never a day I miss the Big 12. Hated playing games against the Midwestern schools and Lubbock sucks hard. Just never felt like a fit. Certainly we have not gotten over the hump in the SEC and had a lot of disappointments but the conference itself is awesome and feels like home with lots of schools that live for football and baseball and have great stadiums and fans that are passionate.

The old days of the SWC were fun with so many games close by but that league never recovered from SMU getting the death penalty and Arkansas leaving. We lost one home game in 4 years when I was in school but there wasn't much juice in beating up on teams that just weren't competitive.

With the way they are setting up the schedule and everyone plays every 2 years or less and gets them all at home every 4 years or less that's going to be a lot of fun as well, especially in the Playoff era where losing a game doesn't destroy your season.

My first in-person Texas/A&M game was as a freshman back in 1991. I drove over and attended the game with some Aggie friends from high school. I don't remember much about the game other than A&M had Bucky Richardson at QB and a good RB, and yes A&M won. What sticks in my mind is how fun the student section was with all the chants and such. I even locked up and joined in the Saw Varsity Horns off part of your fight song.

Good times. My son is a sophomore this year at Texas A&M and he really enjoys it.

What happens (for whatever reason) is that we get in people's heads. They obsess over us. Shite - look at this forum. Hell, we just got here. Then eventually it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Schools resent the shadow of Texas. It makes them feel small. It's more in their imagination than reality - but it's real to them. So over time said schools start flipping out and doing weird arse shite and ultimately blaming Texas for ending the conference.

Only Oklahoma is secure enough in their own skin. Most others are so ate up with Texas envy that it manifests in destruction. But of course it was Texas' fault.

Fricking plebes.

I just hope people are blowing off steam around here. If not, there's a lot of unhealthy hatred and irrational thinking.

Not looking for an internet fight with anyone. I wish everyone has a happy Gameday unless you're playing Texas.

Speaking to fans who left the BXII, this is how they refer to Texas. Texas is the ex-girlfriend you just cannot get rid of. The annoying bitch has to poke her nose into everything.

Honestly, my hope was when we left the Big 12 that we could continue the rivalry as an OOC game. The AD for Texas at that time would not agree to it and encouraged other Big 12 schools to not schedule games with us. He was a little butthurt about the whole thing.

I am glad that we can continue with the rivalry. If you look back over our history together, UTrans has copied most everything A&M has ever done. For instance, we get a school song, they get a school song. We get a mascot, they get a mascot. We get a hand signal, they get a hand signal. We go to the SEC, it was just a matter of time until they followed. \

I didn’t read what you asked, but I assume is how I feel about the horns. Could care less if they are here or aren’t.

They just talk a lot of shite, more than LSU. so meh, like I don’t want to get into debates every day with them over trivial crap.

No you don’t, you spineless dumbass. Lol..Nobody is in awe of the 85% Texas fanbase that never set foot on the campus. Nobody is in awe of the self entitled, liberal, arrogant dipshits that throw the “hook ‘em” yet never graduated from Texas. Nobody is in awe of a fanbase that boos their own players when they are winning a game. You guys are legends in you own minds ever since you became a communist shithole. ????
