I haven't really watched much Florida baseball and this is by no means an insult. From what I have watched from their games with LSU and the College World Series, I just don't see how they won SEC. Was their hitting better during the regular season or did pitching carry them all year. Guess I am asking how the hell were they so successful during the regular season? Nothing there really jumps out at you . Miss State pitching all day and Arkansas hitting all day.

Deepest pitching staff in country with position players like India.

I see where their batting average really wasn't that impressive during year. I figured that their fielding at College World Series was not the norm for them.

Florida was really good during the season. Defending champs. Loaded roster.

They started having issues at the end of the regular season. Tightened up and made it work.

State got hot and beat a lot of teams to help their chances. They weren't supposed to have near the season that they did. Hell of a season though - and still not out.

Arkansas played a very tough schedule and it ended up paying off for us. That experience is what helped our team. We have hot bats and we are the only team that hasn't really fizzled out in the post season.

Ill note I'm not a huge baseball fan, but have been watching since a bit before the SEC tournament and it has been fricking amazing seeing these teams.

Even looking at LSU, OM, VANDY, A&M, Georgia and other SEC teams, it was a fun thing that I'm glad I got to follow.

Already looking forward to next year's season.

College baseball is enjoyable to watch unlike pro ball. I would rather have a needle in my eye then watch a whole pro game As like many, I do watch playoffs and world series

I agree.

There isn't anything close to a roar of a MLB crowd but a college game provides way more excitement. Most of the games I have caught the wife has watched with me. She knows player's on quite a few teams and have seen her enthusiasm to watch with me.

The kids play for each other and go all out. Pros seem to be a bit about me. Kids play to win , pros seem to go off of natural talent until playoffs. Just my opinion

I think Ark better pull for Miss State today. Oregon State looks like they finally are playing loose and have that swagger back. They looked very confident when we were at their regional. We couldn't do shite with them.

O'Sullivan really focused on winning SEC regular season title. Put a lot of emphasis on it. Once they did that in the Saturday game vs Georgia, they've come back to earth. It's almost like he put too much emphasis on it.

They let up a little and haven't been able to return to form (except 2 games this week before last night.

Before this last game, their numbers since the UGA series:

- hit just .222 (107 of 481).

- given up 62 earned runs (4.15 ERA) after a 3.17 ERA through the UGA series; and

- committed 19 errors (1.26 per game) vs. 36 errors (.69 per game) in 52 games previously. They’ve practically doubled their errors per game.

- The errors have led to 24 unearned runs – over half of the unearned runs UF has given up this season.

Can't lie I do watch NFL but I think that comes from having a local team. Love my boys.

So you think kids were burned out? I will also say I don't see their fan base as being up to most other teams fans. Maybe it's just what I have seen in few games I have watched

That UGA-Arkansas series during the regular season was one of the best I've watched live in a long time. Knew then that Arkansas was going to make a run. Really remind me of UGA's 2008 team with a top-to-bottom great lineup and good enough arms to hang with a good opposing lineup.

Florida’s defense fell apart at the end of the year and the pitching didn’t hold up well enough against the best lineups to cover the light hitting. Still, a top 4 finish is a testament to the talent and coaching.

Arkansas’ lineup was stacked whether they scheduled tough or not. Easy pick to be there in the end considering they were nearly a top 8 lock all season and they aren’t losing at home.

Yesterday, State played its first tourney game against an elite team and lost 12-2.

State’s run makes you wonder what Kentucky could have done with the same draw.

I'm still amazed that Ole Miss choked in their regional. That is a really good Ole Miss team. Also, Auburn and SCAR might have made a CWS run too if they hadn't been paired against other SEC teams in the Supers.

I think they had one goal all year and that was win the SEC. And it was beaten into them time and again and when they did it they took a breath. Then they lost 6 out of 7 and couldn't get it back. Shear talent got them to Omaha.

It’s not like Florida embarrassed themselves in the tournament. They were one of the last four teams left playing for a championship.

Good pitching, and we are 2nd in the country in Home Runs. March-April this was the best team in the country. They just peaked to early and ran out of gas. Final 4 isn’t to bad I guess, but we did have the pitcher, hitter, and coach of the year in the same season. You don’t do that unless you have a good team.

Yeah, that's true. Florida was very good, but it's silly to think they underachieved, as some seem to think. Especially in baseball, where anyone can win or lose one game.

We won it last year and finished top 4 this year when there appears to be lots of parity.

The defense and hitting did fall off but its baseball.
