Its like last season erased the memory of the two before it.

Considering that he never should have been the Heisman Trophy winner, then yeah...

It's pretty cool that opposing fans now also expect us to be perfect in every game.

How can a team who lost 4 first round picks (including a heisman trophy winner), and a two year starting QB, from a team that lost 3 games be one of the heavy favorites to win the BCS

Because it is an opinion and doesnt mean shite. Let the season play out

No i dont remember seeing that at all in 2009. Come to think about it didnt happen at all during the 2008 season. I guess dumb fuks will always believe what they want to believe so they have an excuse to flame no matter how ridiculous they sound.

First, that 10-3 team was actually very good. Not quite up to the standard of 08 and 09 Bama, but still very good.

That defense comes back virtually intact. The only key loss is Dareus. He was good, but his first round status (in my opinion) was based more on his pro potential than his college production. I never saw him a that dominant a DL in college. He will be missed, but overall there is very little doubt the defense will be significantly better, and they were quite good last year.

On replacing a Heisman winner: well, since you are comparing last year's 10-3 team to this year's expectations, technically Bama is replacing 2010 Mark Ingram, not the 2009 Heisman winner version. 2010 Mark Ingram was good, but not really great. I think it is pretty reasonable to assume Trent Richardson can match and most likely exceed 2010 Mark Ingram's performance and production. So, losing Mark Ingram may not be as big a deal as it seems to you.

Losing the two year starting QB: this is certainly a concern, but was McElroy really that great? Alabama is not a team that relies heavily on great QB play, so the QB position is not as important as it is to some teams. McCarron and/or Sims will have to prove they can do it, but being as good as McElroy is not a huge task.

Losing Julio Jones: this is by far the biggest loss. If other receivers don't step up, this could be a problem for Bama. It is a legitimate question mark. But most teams have at least one big question mark.

I really think that although Bama lost 4 first rounders (Carpenter first selection was quite frankly a stretch and pretty much everyone knows it) and a QB, it should be able to fill those positions more than adequately except probably Julio.

Overall the defense is MUCH more experienced than last year. The offensive line is much more experienced than last year.

Not sure Bama is a "heavy" favorite to win the BCS, but I think it is justified that they are among the several teams pegged as having a good chance.

Oh, also the schedule is a lot easier this year for Bama in my opinion. Ark and LSU at home. No South Carolina. Auburn probably down a bit.

Our defense is going to be retarded awesome. If you look at the last 2 NC's Alabama has one, both times, they had a decent offense and then a defense for the ages. It's our recipe for success, plus we are on the even year as far as schedule goes, most of our tough games are at home besides Florida and Auburn, both of which are rebuilding and on the dip imo.

last year we lost 8 defensive starters. This year we return virtually all except Dareus. Defense is what wins Alabama championships

Because Saban has outrecruited the rest of the SEC the last 4 years.

The talent level, 1-105, is significantly greater than any other team in college football. Especially on the defensive side of the ball.

I think it's important to keep in mind that we only play three DL.

One of those DE spots is manned by the Jack, a la Upshaw.
