Who was the better quarterback?
Key points:
1) AJ McCarron had a better offensive line, running game, and more time in the system.
2) Chris Todd was in the first year of Malzahn's system, had to inherit an offense that was terrible the year before, and had the inferior offensive line and running game.
3) Caliber of athletes out wide were pretty much even.
Looks like a wash.

Could Alabama have won the National Championship last year with Chris Todd at QB? I think so.

I'll take a QB with the BCSCG MVP. Especially, when going up against one of the stronger D's in a long time.

So...
Your answer is "Red X"?

Aj.
He played/plays in a pro style offense. Much, Much more snaps from center than, lol, Todd. Who played in a rinky-dink O with the majority of snaps coming from shot.

Aside from two good first quarters against UGA and Bama, Todd looked very average.

JPW and Matthew Stafford had nearly identical stats when they were both still playing in college. You think it's a wash?

Mccarron, because he has 10x the talent of Chris Todd. Stats fr a qb are irrelevant unless everyone if using the same playbook. You don't see anyone calling timmy Chang and Graham Harrell the GOAT. Todd is McElroy without the rare IQ

Terrible thread. As expected.

Aj and Matt Mauck had almost identical stats in their national championship seasons too so that'd be a fair comparison also.

Cam Newton played in that same "rinky-dink" offense, and RGIII played in an offense that was based on the shotgun.

Who would you prefer TT? This is a stupid thread. Mccarron is a first round pick and Todd is probably selling insurance. Stats be damned, everyone knows what their answer would be with a gun to their head

It'd be interesting to see the breakdown of passes from short range/medium range/long range.
