You just landed a young man who nearly lead Washington State to the promised land if it wasn’t for losses to the buzz saws of Wyoming, New Mexico, Oregon State and Boise State.

lol...if he wasn't a package deal with his OC...he just an a middle of the road QB in the SEC at best.
But when you had the worst...just getting off the bottom is a win to a team like OU

Mateer was 33rd in QBR this year - not exactly elite but still a step up from Arnold in terms of throwing forward passes.

Likewise, if the numbers he put up this year were at any of the top half of SEC teams - he’d have been a Heisman candidate.
