They fired him for not controlling his staff not for cheating. A lack of oversight. It will hold up. Especially when numbers of incidents comes out.

He'll get at least half of that buyout.
He’ll get more than that buyout if they truly don’t have any concrete evidence of wrong doing since they publicly attacked his reputation.
I have to believe there’s something there otherwise UT’s AD will collapse entirely.

You have to be one of the biggest dumbasses on here since IronsPuppets

You really think Pruitt would perjure himself to protect Saban?
There will be nothing about any university other than Tenn in the court testimonies. If there were, those depositions would likely not be accessible or usable by the NCAA as they are in no way related to the contractual dispute in question.
This is a contract suit, not a judge judy episode.

At best he will get a negotiated percentage to go away and even that’s unlikely. He failed to meet the terms of his contract.

That testimony would be relevant on the issue of his coaching habits, reputation and character, which is therefore relevant testimony in a hearing which centers around the integrity of a HC and program
They are terminating him due to very specific violations at UT. Nothing in his past is relevant.
If they were executing his morality clause like OM would have done with Freeze, I think this would be valid.
Even if past NCAA transgressions come up, I highly doubt it’s in a form that the NCAA can use it.

It’s not even going to court or to a judge. It’s a PR stunt by his agent to get a client some money. The termination letter clearly sets a case for both expectations from the contract and his failure to meet those standards. At best he will get paid from the termination date til the NCAA investigation investigation is completed.

That’s not clear to anyone right now. If Tenn can’t show this then he’ll have a case for a lawsuit due to the way the admin publicly aired this out. Normally I’d trust the admin more than the coach, but seeing how UT’s last coaching hire went, I’m not going to make any assumptions here.

He can be fired for cause for level I or II violations or level III violations that the NCAA says constitutes a level I or II violation. Pretty cut and dry. But like I said he might be able to argue for pay from termination til the NCAA investigation finding are released. Given the number of and depth of the allegations I don’t see this being an issue.

It’s not an issue. People are pretending like an outside firm didn’t come in and do it’s due diligence and report their findings, which clearly show multiple level 1 violations. Their recommendation was to immediately fire Pruitt with cause. It’s not something Plowman decided on her own. 10 people got fired yesterday.

But it’s a cooler story to pretend Tennessee just made it up.
