In the 2011 game in Tuscaloosa they outgained and outplayed LSU and should've won by double digits

I could claim that if LSU didn't settle for a field goal before half and in OT, that Bama never gets that rematch.

Les screwed up by taking the FG in OT instead of trying to punch it in from two yards out for the TD.

And LSU drove deeper into Bama territory than Bama drove into LSU. They gained more yards, but were stalled further out each time.

The missed FGs were not chip shots. LSU's defense held Bama to FGs of 35-+50 yards.

The stats don't tell the entire story of that game. Just like the final score doesn't tell the entire story of the NC Game. 21-0 seems like it was a 3 TD blowout, except that only one TD was scored in the 4th quarter. Those two defenses went 8+ quarters allowing only one TD between them.

That's fricking impressive.

Not sure what you’re trying to do here. Bama and LSU were the two best teams that year. Both had very special teams that rolled their competition.

Please stop this.

magilda, magilda, magilda…you really need to get over your Alabama issues.

Losing continuously to the the greatest dynasty in sports history is nothing to be ashamed of.

Let’s pretend that LSU had a buffoon for a head coach that lucked into a decent QB and a young QB whisperer that could NEVER expect to replicate lightning in a bottle except for that one year…

Only to have the stats of that alleged “greatest college team of all time”obliterated a year later.

shite is hard for you, no doubt.

BCS mandate: match number 1 and number 2 for the national championship.

Number 1 LSU played number 2 Alabama.

Next topic please.

Ease back brother

Burrow had 2000 yards and near 25TDs on Jones

ETA: 2000 yards and near 25 more TDs don’t even seem like real stats. shite’s wild

The melt is entering its second decade. Be a teenage melt before you know it.

They grow up too fast.

Who will cry for the little corndog, let down by his team?

Who will cry for the little corndog? He cries now as he melts.

Who will cry for the little corndog? Joy he has rarely felt.

Who will cry for the little corndog? He has seen the dumpster fire.

Who will cry for the little corndog? Such a disappointed fan.

Who will cry for the little corndog? He is annually letdown.

Who will cry for the little corndog? His teams lose and lose again.

Who will cry for the little corndog? It soon becomes too hard.

Who will cry for the little corndog, that cries in every ranter?

To be fair to Jones, 18 of those TD's and 1400 of those yards came against Vandy, NW State, Georgia Southern and Utah State.

Take nothing away from Burrow's phenomenal year, but if Mac had those extra games against that level of competition (with D. Smith and Waddle to throw to) I don't think the gap would be as wide as you think.

Jones only needed to average 1000 yards and 12 TDs a game if he had the two extra games

Or one against an FCS school and one of the SEC matchups replaced with Vandy like Burrow. But if you don't want things being equal and really don't believe Mac leading that 2020 Bama offense wouldn't have put up similar numbers, then you're definitely an LSU fan.

No other team can even make the claim that they got the opportunity to play for a NC without winning their division, but Bama gets to claim "undisputed" NC without even winning their division.

They didn't even tie for the division lead. Just straight came in second place.

To answer Bama fans' query about how 2011 Bama is any different than 2021 UGA, here it is: Bama lost the division in 2011, but somehow, the team that beat them on their home field had to play in an extra game against a top ten opponent just to earn the right to play a Bama team they already beat for the NC while Bama sat at home.

UGA still had to play the same amount of games as Bama in 2021, and earn the right to play Bama for the NC.

Bama sat at home while LSU had to play an extra game to earn the right to play Bama. Final records for 2011: LSU - 13-1, Bama 12-1.

Should have played a rubber match in Tiger Stadium, even if it was just an exhibition. The CFB world deserved that game.

A decade's worth of the sweetest melt in the history of melts. Thanks for this, magildachunks.

Any moment now, AND NOW FOLKS… for your further entertainment … sit back and enjoy the latest melt episode of …

PATRICK PETERSON’S interception no-call which cheated LSU out of a sure win…

This is also an epic, very long-running LSU melt that has morphed with time into the play that decided the game (though LSU had only three 1st downs in second half).

So let’s give a big round of applause to the melt brothers and Patrick Peterson!!! Camera. Action. Rolling…
