1) Why the frick would the Colts want Saban as their coach?

Saban might be the best college coach of all-time, but that doesn't mean he's cut out for the NFL (as we've seen).

2) Why the frick would Saban leave Alabama?

He's got the best job in the business. Yes, the Colts are a well-run organization, have a lot of talent, and could win a Super Bowl in the near future; but Saban is 64 years old. Coaching an NFL team is a lot more stressful.

Who cares. Every UA fan has come to the realization he may only have a few years left in TTown, even though most feel it will be to retirement. Unless the program is hit by the NCAA or we turn into UT before he goes we will get any coach(for the most part at least) that we want.

The college has already showed they will do everything they can financially and structure wise to have one of the best programs n the country. They have the money to hire any coach and staff they want. As long as we are contending the recruits will keep coming.

SO if he decided to leave so be it and again would rather it happen when we are on top.

By the way this seems to be following all the BS Paul Finebaum is spewing out.

Saban has nothing to prove in the college game. IMHO, he is one of the Top Five All-Time greatest collegiate coaches/recruiting coaches. I believe that in all sincerity. I may not be a fan of Saban, but I respect him.

The way I look at it, and I'm a Colts fan, I'd welcome Saban with open arms because I know he would approach this as an all hands on deck situation. That defense now isn't going to cut it against the Tom Brady's of the world. It is fine against Manning because, hello, it's not like Indianapolis knows that system. I'd take my chances with a guy who could go toe to toe with old Bill.

The other thing is legacy — which is already stellar. Winning a bunch of collegiate national titles and then, say, a couple of Super Bowls? Which is possible with Luck. I'd take my changes.

At the end of the day, however, I'm with the majority of y'all. I don't see him leaving the collegiate game. Fun to think about and if anybody would have insight on this it would be Florio/Schefter et al. The Indy rumor isn't out there without some merit. Wouldn't surprise me if this was a Colts leak to motivate Chuck TBH. If that defense doesn't get it done this year and they have another embarrassing outing against New England... probably going to be some changes.

If he goes to the Colts maybe he can get TR back in Indy and whip his arse back into shape.

Bidness as usual is all. The Saban - Sexton team working on a pay raise (yawn). Sexton probably leaked something.
Saban ain't happy unless he's frustrated and miserable and getting another bump in pay.

It blows my mind that people still think Saban has to "Work the phones" or "leak a rumor" to get a pay raise. If Saban wants more money, he says he wants more money and the University strokes a check.

It wouldn't surprise me.Catching Bear's 6 has to be in his mind but I could see him wanting to try something different before he gets too old.

That being said,I think he coaches 7 years + or - and Retires to the Lake House.

If that's the case, then the "Miserable Midget" would be down at office every day with his hand out. Better check with a Doc about that blown mind.
