UNC is also breaking in a new coach, offensive and defensive schemes. Their OC is Phil Longo, formerly of Ole Miss. Since SC played and defeated Ole Miss last year, they should have some idea of his offensive principles and how to defeat them.
Their defense is predicated upon communication and while their 1st string is seasoned, their two deep is very inexperienced. Not only that, but UNC linebacker Dominique Ross and cornerback Patrice Rene will be suspended for the first 1/2 of the game. Ross is one of their most experienced player on Defense. They are starting a true freshmen QB on offense.
If SC's wide receiver corps is healthy, Bentley should be able to stress the tar heels late in the game in the summer heat.

I wouldn't say that. They are in the top 30 from a team talent point of view. But by every measure SC is more talented than they are.

They had one guy taken last year in the draft
Normally they have guys all over the board as highly touted , had one guy named second team all ACC last year and he was a senior
And last years recruiting class wasn’t great

When Mack was hired at the end of November last year, UNC’s recruiting ranking was around 92. By final signing day, UNC was ranking around 27. Not a bad recovery.
For 2019, UNC is currently ranked in the10-15 range.
