Texas got paid $15 MM/yr (ESPN also paid for all the production costs) to showcase all things Texas 24/7, to any high school kid thinking about their future.
So they sold their soul for some coin, and tried to make TX all about Utx, Sounds pretty short sighted, greedy, and selfish.
quote:
Too bad for ESPN they got the worst 10 years of Texas Football, ever.
You must be Nostardamus to predict that. You have no clue about the future (nether do I) but an educated guess tells me Utx has not come clear of the bad years and may just be middle of the pack going forward. Tennessee has been thinking they were coming back for the last 20 years and it still has not happened.
Again, it is all about you and what you got, even if it crapped the bed for the B12, Difference is the SEC worried about the actual product and the money came after the fact. Problem is more money is no guarantee of success, you guys just fail to heed the prediction.
Unlike the rest of the power conferences, just getting to the Top 6 is big deal. All the others are a 1 or 2 team conference.

You forgot you’re a Miss St fan.
Milk that baseball natty for all it’s worth.
You’re supposed to be talking about how Bama or UGA is going to wipe the floor with us. Carry on.
Maybe you’ll win a natty in something else in your lifetime.
You are everybody’s son - not the other way around. Football scoreboard as well…

Dude, State is 2-2 all time against Utx and 3 of the 4 games were played in TX
01/01/1999 in TX Utx wins 38 - 11
09/05/1992 in TX State wins 28 - 10
09/07/1991 in MS State wins 13 - 6
11/11/1921 in TXD Utx wins 7 - 54
In the modern era State is 2-1
Looks like State is already your daddy.

This narratve makes me laugh my arse off. I don't kmow a single horn who thinks this. In fact we think the fb program is a hot mess.
...now if you are referring to the athletic dept I can't really argue with you...but the fans have no control over that. Most of us are sick of the boosters meddling with the program
This and the belief that the stupid horns down or t.u. bothers us is priceless.

We know. With any luck the Horns down will become the unofficial hand sign of the entire conference.

Will you still love it a decade in the SEC and they are your daddy?
Utx was a big fish in a small pond. SEC is the shark tank and there is always blood in the water.
We will see what we will see.

it’s actually quite pitiful.
I mean, people even refuse to address the school with the proper word itself, instead referring it to as t.u. It doesn’t sound like we are disrespecting or demeaning them. It sounds like we’re afraid. This isn’t Harry Potter. Just say the word.
quote:
They’re not boogeymen, ghouls, goblins or parking tickets, they’re just another school in Texas. While we should not care about them, we have chosen to do the opposite. We have glorified them to such a degree that they’ve become embedded into our school’s culture.
We spend actual money on merchandise dedicated to them, spread their symbols during our football games when the game isn’t even against them and make animal sounds when someone brings up their name.
We give them capital. We give them exposure. We give them power.
Humiliating.

I understand A&M is a school rich in customs and traditions, but just because something is a tradition and “just the way it’s always been done” doesn’t mean it’s good. People used to have child marriages, bind their feet to make them smaller and practice human sacrifice.

I'm going to keep posting this article every time you reply to me begging for attention from now on. You're so humiliated by it that you're double-replying to my posts and still avoiding it

Sorry you don't have a team to root for gramps. I guess we were right about you: you really couldn't get into any of the schools (in the SEC no less

Is there a mouse in your pocket because the Queen uses the Royal "We" and you clearly are no British Royal. You probably never even crossed The Pond for a Royale with Cheese.

Says you, but probably could have gotten into all of them including your little cow college in austin once they join the SEC. I am positive you would not have been accepted at any of the (5) schools that accepted me as an undergrad.
You keep laughing tho, the joke is on you and probably in your hand.

Predict the first moment once Texas joins when they find out, They are not special,
I know you all think we're going to destroy them for all eternity but this conference is making the biggest mistake it's ever made before.
Rank of US institutions by size of endowment (2020)
1. Harvard University $41 Billion
2. Yale University $31 Billion
3. The University of Texas $30 Billion
4. Stanford University $28 Billion
5. Princeton University $25 Billion
6. Massachusetts Institute of Technology $18 Billion
7. University of Pennsylvania $14 Billion
Don't look at the next few years. Look at the next decade. That money buys a lot more than Bama t-shirts at Walmarks.
The SEC just let in the Trojan Horse. The home office will be in Dallas or Houston within the next decade. But by all means, don't let me stop you from beating off fantasizing about the arse whoopings we'll peel off in the next 3-4 seasons.

Dude, they cant compete in the Big12 and endowment has little to do with athletics.
