Do you understand what a hero moment is for a QB?
Helping your team win in the final moments/seconds of the game? Again you don't know about Marshall/auburn. It's okay.

QBR matters in one case, but not the other, winning matters in one case, but not the other, "hero moments" matter in one case, but not the other. Yeah, you're definitely not consistent in your argument.

A whole bunch of Marshall bashing, but not one recommendation of another player yet.
This might be the weakest crop of SEC QB's in a decade. But that is to be expected considering last year was the strongest in a decade.

That's Total QBR, which is completely different from college's QB Rating.
College's QB Rating is very close to the NFL's Passer Rating, especially when you look at the formulas.
You're welcome for the lesson in statistics.

That doesn't make it an inherently good metric.
It's easily the best metric in CFB for determining how good a passer a QB is. You cant sit here and say it isn't because once again it takes into account all passing metrics.

Please list his hero moment other than MSU and UGA DBs tapping his pass to your WR then.

The only person all over the place is you right here. I did not do any of this.

You may need to go back and read this thread if you don't think you did any of this.

Umm, Cody Prewitt was a first team all American at SS last season.

Both are, again, widely criticized for being flawed or incomplete metrics.
quote:
The NFL on its website states: "Passer rating is used to evaluate passers, not quarterbacks." The formula does not include rushing statistics, sacks, or fumbles, nor does it put added weight on performance during crucial situations such as third downs or fourth quarter scoring drives. Passer rating also cannot account for the quality of wide receivers or pass protection from the offensive line.

But the question isn't "who is the best passer," but rather "who is the best QUARTERBACK."
Tim Tebow was a shitty passer at Florida, but he was a fricking fantastic quarterback who was a part of a pretty damn talented football team.

I said from the start all conference picks are based on stats and who they believe the best player is (post season). Pre-season all conference picks are stupid because just like in cases such as QB this year they have to pick a mediocre player by default because of losses at the position from last season.

Surely you jest. This again furthers my statements.

What makes Marshall a "mediocre" player? He's not Peyton Manning throwing the ball, but with his rushing ability, I'd think he's a little better than "mediocre".

I think Landon Collins will be an All SEC safety.

I specifically said college QB Rating is for PASSING, not sure why you're going into this argument now.
Anything and EVERYTHING gets criticized. That doesnt mean there's a better metric for determining how good a passer a QB is than their QB Rating.
Look at the top 10 college QBs in QB Rating vs. the middle 10 and bottom 10. Clearly it does a great job separating QBs in how well they threw the football.

Ummm, no he wasn't. Not even close. His QB Rating was good every single year.

Gabe Wright DT
Carl Lawson DE
Carl Lawson DE

So his only true hero moment came against a shitty team.
Thanks for proving my point
