9-3 coach?

You flip flop between percentage and record, which is it?

He has 136 wins in 14 years, for an average of 9.7. Common sense would round that up to 10. We're talking about a coach who AVERAGES winning 10 games a year over 14 years in the toughest league in football. I'd say that's pretty darn impressive.

Mullen took Mississippi State to #1 in the nation, that's hard to do. Should be a top 25 coach IMO.

Considering what he achieved last season, I'd agree. He built that squad from the ground up.

Miles at 4

With the most wins by a team in the best conference by far over the past decade I think it's laughable that any knowledgeable football fans think Miles is ranked to high. If Saban is clearly #1, and I believe he is, than it stands to reason that a coach with Miles' record would be at least top 5. 4 is about right, although I don't think Stoops should be ranked ahead of Les. Les split with Stoops while at OSU for goodness sakes.

Richt's case is weird. He's averaged 10 wins a year over 14 years in the SEC. No national titles though, and his 2 SEC titles were when the conference wasn't as strong as it's been lately. His 2 major bowl wins were over 8-5 FSU with a backup qb and mighty (or not) Hawaii.

From what I read, Briles didn't want to interview, he just wanted an offer. This was too much for our new idiot AD. Say what you want about old man Dodds, he would have had Briles in Burnt Orange. Now, our defensive minded head coaching is getting slaughtered by every decent team.

Yeah, the guy who allowed the program to decay into a pile of shite that Strong has to dig out of would have made a better decision.

Strong was the right decision. Texas has the patience to give him one more year due to quarterback/O-line issues. IF there is some improvement at the end of a terrible season.

Or not, since they went 1-1 against each other (and Shula's win was vacated).

He also has an insanely difficult SOS over the 14 years. Playing in the SEC and just about every year play 2 Power 5 teams OOC. Richt at 7 makes sense. Add a NC and he's top 3. I wouldn't take any coach below him as our HC, so ranking seems right. He's also consistently 3rd/4th in SEC recruiting (though don't thinks he's finished #1 in the sec)

LSU was a female orifice away from beating Bama in '08, '12, and '14. Two of those went ino OT. LSU had Bama beaten in all 3.

Miles DID beat Saban in '07, '10 and '11.

Also, Miles led LSU to one of the most dominating regular seasons in CFB history. 500-123.
I think if those close losses are reversed and/or the '12 BCSCG ends 15-7, Miles AT WORST is #2 on this list, not #4.
