Auburn’s SEC Schedule:

quote:

1. Georgia (2, 5, 4)
5. Alabama (7, 8, 2)
11. Missouri (8, 18, 45)
13. Texas A&M (11, 21, 73)
15. Oklahoma (17, 16, 95)
25. Kentucky (31, 31, 39)
46. Arkansas (38, 57, 6)
97. Vanderbilt (76, 117, 72)

Vandy and Arky are at home. Those should be wins.

Bama and Georgia are on the road… likely losses.

The key to Auburn’s season will be at #11 Missouri and #25 Kentucky along with #13 Texas A&M and #15 Oklahoma at home.

Texas’ schedule:

quote:

1. Georgia (2, 5, 4)
13. Texas A&M (11, 21, 73)
15. Oklahoma (17, 16, 95)
25. Kentucky (31, 31, 39)
33. Florida (26, 50, 9)
46. Arkansas (38, 57, 6)
68. Mississippi State (78, 60, 50)
97. Vanderbilt (76, 117, 72)

Oklahoma’s schedule:

quote:

4. Texas (4, 12, 17)
5. Alabama (7, 8, 2)
8. Ole Miss (6, 15, 26)
9. LSU (3, 35, 83)
11. Missouri (8, 18, 45)
16. Tennessee (14, 19, 52)
31. Auburn (50, 32, 27)
43. South Carolina (64, 37, 12)

Texas’ average SEC opponent is ranked 37.3

Oklahoma’s average SEC opponent is ranked 15.5

How did the SEC office screw this up so wildly?

Does returning production even matter anymore in the portal era? Most teams will fit together with far different peices to come together as a completely different team most years going forward IMO.

I don't think so because now you can go get returning production from the portal

I think it matters, but at lower percentages. You don’t want a team made up entirely of transfer.

OU's first SEC road game is @Auburn, Texas is @Vandy.

Who’s crying? This is the easiest schedule we’ve had in well over a decade.

I know that’s probably hard for Georgia fans to understand since you always play a bunch of East cupcakes.

Because a player produces elsewhere doesn't necessarily mean he'll produce in your scheme.

But it does blunt the impact of losing production when you bring it in from another program.

It's also tough to count what that production is worth. LSU for example brought in a 1000 yard WR from liberty and a 500 yard WR from MSU. What's more valuable production? 1000 yards against a G5 schedule, or 500 yards against a SEC schedule?

I don't know the answer to that.

Fixed it for you.

I'm sorry you have to play a tough team like UGA while UGA gets to play Auburn. Maybe you could try to be better to make it more even?

The only east team with a worse conference record than Auburn last year was Vandy (who just happened to be the only SEC East team Auburn beat).

Playing Auburn isn’t the reason for your weak schedule bud.

Georgia’s Regular Season Games Played Against Top 25 Ranked Opponents Since 2010:
6- Auburn, Florida
5- South Carolina
4- Tennessee
3- Clemson, Missouri, Miss St
2- Vanderbilt, Kentucky, Arkansas, Notre Dame, Alabama, LSU
1- Oregon, Ole Miss, Boise St, Georgia Tech

We’ve obviously enhanced your SOS considering there is no team you’ve played more games against in the regular season that has finished ranked in the Top 25.

Meanwhile, Georgia only ranks third on our list.

Auburn’s Regular Season Games Played Against Top 25 Ranked Opponents Since 2010:
14- Alabama
11- LSU
10- Georgia
4- Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Miss St
3- Clemson, Arkansas
2- S Carolina
1- Washington, Florida, Vanderbilt, Oregon, Kansas St, Penn St

That’s a total of 61 such games for Auburn compared to 46 for Georgia…. So an extra regular season game played against a top tier opponent every single season.

If I am understanding this correctly, aren't they trying to factor portal into these numbers:

More even? Even with a severely depleted roster, you smelly dogs had to score a touchdown in the last three minutes to beat us last year.

And it shouldn't be a surprise that were down. Even Ray Charles could see that.

We'll be more competitive in the future and tart whipping that doggie arse once CHF rebuilds the roster.

I think so, but 500 receiving yards or 20 TD passes or 8.5 sacks can be way different from player to player based on the system they're in, conference they come from, SOS, etc
