If Cannizaro leaves the Tigers for a head coaching gig, what are the chances LSU could convince Bianco to come take his place? I mean, those guys really put the bat on the ball this year. Their approach at the plate was outstanding. The LSU ties are there, and I'm sure he would love working for Mainieri where he has a real shot at Omaha on a yearly basis.

His kid chose LSU over Ole Miss, so it would make sense.

Because they didn't want to coach/play together.

Bianco is not going to any other school

Good Point. A father loves his son and wouldn't want him involved in OM's Dumpster Fire of a sports program.

Is this intended as some troll toward Ole Miss?

Cause it's a really bad one if so. Yeah he's gonna leave a HC gig in the SEC to be a assistant.

I mean I know it's dump on Ole Miss week (month or year maybe) but geesh this is just ignorant

Did I miss something?

Did the rebs fire him for going 0-2 in his own regional?

If not then he isn't going anywhere.

As for his son going to LSU over ole miss. The FAMILY decided years ago. If one of the boys was good enough to play college ball it wouldn't be where daddy is coaching.

Bianco is a king at Ole Miss despite the fact they never win shite. He gets paid good money because Ole Miss was far worse before he got there. Think in terms of a second rate baseball program that has actually had a few moments here and there. Bianco is the best thing that ever happened there.

when Mainieri leaves, theres a chance. none before that. he would be an idiot to voluntarily leave a job where he can makes hundreds of thousands of dollars more a year unless and until he is old enough (family obligations lowered) to accept a job that is less stressful. and LSU surely is not that job.

and Paul Maineri is not retiring anytime soon. Maybe in 9-10 years.

Really, Ask yourself this question, what would LSU fans do if their coach went 0-2 in the 2015 regional and then to top it off goes 0-2 in their HOME regional. We all know that those damn cajun's would have him out of there before the fireworks show in July. Ross "The Boss" has created such a shite Fire with their athletic programs that they are just trying to keep their head above the water before the NCAA puts the foot on the neck to finish them off.

0% chance this happens. Bianco told all his kids that they have to go somewhere else. He doesn't want any of them playing for him.

Source: from Oxford and have a lot of friends who graduated with the eldest Bianco.

A real response to a troll thread:

Eventually. Bianco is the next LSU coach in training. Time will tell if that's in 2 years or 20 years.

even if Mainieri left tomorrow, there wouldn't be a chance. Bianco flat out chokes on a regular basis. There is no reason he should have only been to Omaha one time in sixteen years as a coach with the teams he's had. He's 1/5 in Super Regionals and has lost twice as the #1 seed in a home regional. No way would I want Bianco as LSU's coach.

MB had his chance years ago to take the job before he was known as a "choke artist". The job was pretty much his if he wanted it.

He didn't want it because he was happy in Oxford so he will probably stay there. Who knows? He may not regret that decision for the rest of his life.

But, he may always wonder "what if" and I couldn't blame him if he did. LSU is the best CBB job in the land and is his alma mater so I know that decision probably tugged on his heart strings.

But that ship has sailed. I think he retires at OM personally.
