The timing, though? It’s hard to not assume this was deliberately done to take the players’ minds out of the deciding game of the national championship.

To me, that goes well beyond rivalry or self-interest. That was just fundamentally wrong for these players.

Assuming a deal was reached sometime in April or May, when do you think it should have been announced?

It’s nowhere in the ballpark of Riley to USC.

No one really cares about college baseball outside of some loyal (but relatively small) fan bases in the south and a few enclaves out west.

But it happens to be the slowest time of year in sports when views and clicks are needed the most.

And the ags can take solace in some splash hires failing before at Texas. We’ll see how this works out. CDC is all about the publicity and keeping UT on the front page.

??

This has been kept silent for the most part..

There isn't a good time to announce it. The firing was a leak by Brent Zimmerman and David Pierce.. this was not leaked by Texas to hurt A&M. Why wouldn't we have done it before Game 3 if that wasn't true?

Both of these were massively huge downgrades....USC was not and is not prepared to compete in college football then or now. ATM to Texas is about as close to exactly the same situation as you could find. Tennessee to USC or Oklahoma to USC in the era was a huge step down.

It would be like a Auburn getting a great football coach who after playing for the national title in year 3 - quits the day after the game to take the job at Alabama.

FIFY

Funny how y'all had no problem with him leaving TCU after being the best coach in that school's history, either

Its Texas. This is the thing that many people do not fully understand about Texas and Texans....they really mean it when they say they do not give a good frick about other people's opinions of them and their actions. If you understand the history of Texas even at a basic level you will understand why this is so. They come from the poorest of the poor. The state was settled by people who simply could not cut it on the east coast and they wound up in an area that was damn near unlivable in any way humans, even in the era, would consider sufficient. When oil became a thing all of a sudden these wretches were wealthy...and their progeny have concluded that they are so because of who they are. The same thing would happen to any group of people who were the lowest of the low and through little or no effort on their part suddenly became fabulously wealthy...you couldn't tell them anything they did not want to hear. That is Texas and Texans....trailer park trash that hit the lottery.

Hey, dipshit. Read the room. It’s not just Aggies calling this out.

In your mind, why would LSU fans be crying about this?

Because they'd rather see Schlossnagel at TAMU than Texas, who is 1 title behind them.

I’m an Lsu fan and I don’t care who coaches either of your teams as long as it’s not Jay Johnson. Our program has been maintained since Bertman retired . Has Texas? I get why Schloss made the move to Texas. It’s a better program and maybe he also wanted to get away from the gays blowing bubbles every game. Everything about A&M is cringy to me.

Absolutely not, which is why we went and got a great coach.

And FWIW, the vast majority of LSU fans I've seen either don't care or are outright dunking on Aggie.

No matter what your feelings are toward Schlossnagle, the more pressing issue at hand is: What’s next for Texas A&M baseball?

I’ve never had any issues with Texas , but I don’t like anything about A&M. I have respect for Texas but zero for y’all’s little brother.
