Liberty won't be able to dictate the pace and they surely won't be able to bang with State on the glass.

They outrebounded Bama. They are actually a good defensive rebounding team and offensive rebounding is State's strength.

I don't see any huge disadvantages for Liberty when looking at strengths and weaknesses. They don't get to the foul line at all, but other than that they aren't really bad at anything.

I do agree that they will need to be able to dictate pace. But they are a top 100 offense and defense and they shoot the ball very well. If they can keep the possessions down and make shots that should allow them to keep it close which is dangerous for favorites in March.

KenPom behind the paywall.

I know Auburn is shooting the ball so well that it's hard to see them losing but in looking at the 5/12 games this looks to be the worst matchup to me for the 5s. NM St doesn't turn it over and they absolutely clean the glass on both ends.

NMST. average Opponent O is ranked 238, and their average Opponent D is ranked 222.

Auburn's average Opponent O is ranked 21, and their average D is ranked 30.

I understand that and AU is obviously the better team but it isn't a good matchup stylistically. Would you agree?

SoG, that may be the truest words that ever came out of your fingers....he is damn near impossible to guard and he plays good defense,at times....he is the best guard that we played and the other one, brown( i think) is pretty good himself shooting the 3 ball...Morant is in a class by himself

Almost every "great" mid-major player I've ever seen come play in Tuscaloosa ends up underwhelming..............That kid made me immediately ask why I didn't know way way way more about him.

He's the best player Alabama played against this year. He was playing with basically a cast of average D1 mid-major players and he just did everything. It was unbelievable.

Bulldogs will destroy Liberty.

You are much better and the game will be at least 15 points at the half.

State is a really good team. I was happy to have to play y'all once.

State proved to the country during OOC play that they can play with anybody.

I dunno. I'm disappointed that he didn't throw in "Picky People Pick Polk's".

I can only hear that in Jim Ellis' voice, with a slight whistle on the plural "s"

I listened to Jim some this past weekend. He is starting to slip pretty badly....but his voice IS Mississippi State baseball. He will be as tough to replace as Jack Cristil was for football and basketball.
